Well, I had the whole morning to craft....and I had very little mojo! But, I did get a card done for the current TUC challenge over on Molly's Blog. I am not really sure this card qualifies as simple, but it does only have one stamp on it!
Deets: SU sentiment and CTMH Berry Vineyard Ink; the papers are those I bought not to long ago, so I have no idea of their origin.
I did take this picture out on my balcony without any problems today....I should get a pat on the back for that after yesterday's fiasco...
This is short post, sorry about that...my DS isn't feeling well this afternoon and needs some Mama-Attention.
Hope you all have a great weekend!
See ya soon!

Thursday Afternoon Delight
My son is off with one of his best buds - went go karting and mini golfing....
My husband is watching a music video from the DVR (reliving his youth, I think)....
So, that left me to make a card.
This card comes with a story....I wanted to play with the Ho's on their Challenge and also over at Cowgirl's Sunday Stamp'en Challenge. Two sets of great stampers ~ I hope one day to be in their league! Oh, back to the story. I colored the image but didn't really like a part of it, so take two; colored again... I liked (but son thought the jeans should be darker "Well, Mom, I only wear dark blue.") Got the image finished and mounted and found a sentiment; and mounted that too. Found a piece of paper in my box-o-paper and made a flower. Was excited that the card came together!
{Here comes the sad part of the story.}
Took the card outside - since we all know that natural light is best for taking pictures - where the card proceeded to fall behind my grill. No problem yet. I'll just reach down and get it. Hmmm...a bit too far to stretch, so I decide to move the grill out and have less of a stretch.
TOO BAD I DIDN'T SEE THE POND WITHIN THE FOLDS OF THE GRILL COVER!
Yep, pretty card took a bath ~ before I got a decent picture of it.
But, decided to write about it and laugh at myself.... and show you anyhow.
So, here is my card, wrinkles and all!
Thanks for stopping by this afternoon~

Wanna play catch?
Over at SCS, I am in a sports swap that LJ is hosting....I signed up for a spot and this is what I came up with....hope it is 'sporty' enough!
The image is from The Greeting Farm and colored with Copics. I picked up the charm at Michaels and the papers were bought from a fellow SCSem, so am not sure of their origin!
Thanks for spending a bit of your Thursday with me~

Wonderful Wednesday
It is another great day here in the Northeast US. I spent yesterday with my cousins at one of their houses. When we were younger and our parents we alive, we all got together on a regular basis - now, unfortunately, not so much. So, it was a treat to spend the day with them and our various kids!
But, that has nothing to do with my card for the day (well, except to explain why I was MIA yesterday)!
My card uses an image from DeeDee's Digis and follows the challenge over there this week - to use brown and green. The papers are all out of my scrap pile, and the image was colored with Copics.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Another one for Wednesday~
One more card for today.
Not really sure how this will work, I have never tried blogging right from Picasa. I decided that maybe I should have my name associated with my cards, so am giving that a try.... Once, I learn how to do something I am golden, but it's the whole learning curve that gets me.
I am part of a blog group over at SCS called Tangled Up In Creativity. {See the side bar for the other great ladies involved in this group.} Every so often, one of us throws out a challenge to the others. This time, Monica wanted us to think out of the box with the Christmas in July theme and use non traditional colors. Come over and join us, if you dare {insert evil laugh here}.
Deets: stamps by SU and fiber from CTMH...the paper is some I bought as a lot and am not sure who it is by. Ink is Rich Cocoa Momento and a gold pen for the highlights.

Have a Happy...
Hump Day!
My friend., Clarky, loves this expression. I haven't seen him IRL in forever, but will this weekend at my reunion; so had to use the expression just for him.
My card today has nothing to do with it being Wednesday, but with friendship.
Deedee's Digis is all about friendship and fellowship this week. Her challenge is to make a card AND send it. Mine is going out to my BFF Cheryl....hope she doesn't read this before it gets to her! On a side note, Deedee has a new SET out for the low, low price of $3 (with all proceeds going to cancer research) that is just too adorable. My Dueling Darling cohort, Kelly, has a great post with many great pictures that everyone should CHECK OUT! Kelly, I am sorry I didn't ask before typing this ;-)
I hope everyone has a great day~

Sassy says:
I am on a roll this week with my card making. I am so glad that it hasn't been a million degrees in my apartment this week! I love to craft, EXCEPT when the sweat drips off me....lol
Today's card features an image from Sassy Studio Designs and is for their Dare to be SASSY Thursday Challenge that can be found here. It was a color challenge this week and I think my card fits the bill.
I am leaving on Friday for the weekend; going to my high school reunion....Yep, I did graduate from High School (college too, for you smartie pants out there).
I have been reconnecting with some of the people I went to school with; and this card is going to one of those people!!
I hope everyone is enjoying this week (and my craftiness)!
See ya later with a card for DeeDee's weekly challenge!

CraftyHo's Challenge Submission
This title says it all....lol...
Do I really need to say anything else? This card is being submitted to the Ho's for their weekly challenge which you can see HERE.
I used some more of my origami paper and picked colors from that. The image is from Sassy Studio Designs.
Thanks for stopping by on this Tuesday! Hope you are enjoying the summer as much as I am!!

Monday, already?
Where did the weekend go?
We were busy for most of it....well, it must have been all of it, since it slipped through my fingers so easily~
This Monday, I have a card for you....it is appropos for the challenge over at Cowgirl's Sunday Stamp'en Challenge. Prairie Fairy is sponsoring them this week, so I used an image by them. The background is some cool origami paper I picked up this weekend at Mike's. Besides using their sketch, you needed to use pink, red or turquoise. I didn't get any red into my card, but did use the other two colors!

Thank Goodness it's Thursday....
Well, it is almost Friday, so I guess any way you think about it, the week is just about over and weekend is about here.
Today I am going to show you my final version of my latest Forest Swap....this one is in Paradise... I hate to say this, but right about now, "paradise" is sounding snow covered. I know - I'll be complaining when the snow is here that I sure wish it was warmer....
This is stamped with all Close To My Heart products. I can truthfully say that I don't know that manufacturer of the card stocks. I bought them from a friend over at SCS....
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed my card.

Congratulations....
Our cousin has graduated from high school and his party will be this coming weekend. Talk about not knowing what to get the boy? Or even what kind of card will be appreciated. I could only find 'cute' when looking for something that said graduation....while he is 'cute', he probably wouldn't really appreciate a cute card....lol
So, I started looking through my sets of stamps (insert a long drawn out gasp here...I actually used ink and not a digi) and found something a bit more masculine. I paired it with some manly CS and viola....his card.
I sure hope he likes it ;-)
Deets:
The dp is from SandyLion
Metal Dots were clearanced at WalMart
The stamp is from Letter Press Alpha by Hampton Arts (the whole set cost me a buck at BigLots)
Ink is Close To My Heart
Thanks for stopping by~

Marvelous Monday
I hope everyone is enjoying the first day of the week!
I have a bit of mojo back, so you get to see a new card today....lol
This card is fitting for the Crafty Ho's Challenge and the one at DeeDee's.
The Ho's this week asked for a black/white and any other color card, while DeeDee offered up a sketch challenge. I hope you play along with these fun challenges!
Thanks for stopping by and HUGGZ,

It's been a super Sunday!
If you join me on a regular, or even semi-regular, basis, you know that I haven't felt like crafting because of the heat. Well, the dry spell has been broken and yesterday I made two cards for a swap at SCS. This swap is being hosted by Viv (blusky) and there must be a winged creature on the card. I committed to one spot, but in my craftiness, created two.
And, you get the sneakie peekies at them.
And, you get the sneakie peekies at them.
Deets:
The fence is a digital image by GTC and called Floral Fantasy Fence. I used Bic Mark-Its to color it in, trimmed between the fence posts and added a die cut, embossed butterfly that has a few rhinestones to embellish it.
On the second card, the owl is a digital image from TlcCreations. He is also colored with my Bic's. The sentiment is by Close To My Heart and the inside of the card reads "Sometimes age just shows up all on by itself." I think the googly eyes really give Mr. Owl more personality!
Thanks for checking in today. I have posts lined up for later in the week, so be sure to check back!!

Here I Am.....
It is very unlike me to not post something during the week, but the heat just zapped all of my crafting mojo this week. It finally broke today with great thunder storms and flash flooding.... Thank goodness I live in a second floor apartment ;-)
My EK and his parents moved this past week, so I inked up a couple stamps from Close To My Heart. I chose the colors because it happens to be those of their new living room.
Thanks for stopping by....I'll be back tomorrow with some new creations. Da boyz are going to an air show, so I will have the place to myself and I can craft to my ♥'s delight!

Hotter than....
Just wanted to pop in and say HI!
The weather here in Western NY is sure curtailing my craftiness. It's much too hot to stay in and craft...today I am off to my father-in-law's where there is central air...I'm even taking 'stuff' to work on!
In lieu of a card this morning, how about a couple photos??
These were taken at the Port of Rochester. For those of you that don't have a clue, that is on the south side of Lake Ontario....

TUC Challenge
Well, the current challenge for The Tangled Up in Creativity blog group has been put out there. Tammy has asked us to alter designer paper.
I have to tell you...I stink at this challenge, but being a team player, I tried!!
I used by dp for totally different cards... the first is depicting the innocence of summer.
And the second is the backdrop for my Halloween scene.
The card stock is all from the scrap file...the designer paper is from the Paper Studio and I originally bought it for a Forest Swap...lol...and, the bling was gifted to me (and I don't remeber the company name).
I am sure this isn't quite what Tammy had in mind, but I hope you all have enjoyed my take on this challenge.
Huggz,
April

Thirsty Thursday?
Yesterday, my family ran around with our heads off....in doing so, I forgot to take anything out of the freezer for supper.... In retrospect, we should have gone to McDonald's, Wendy's or Bill Grays.... I "made" a pasta salad from a kit. Now normally, I loved this company's (which will remain nameless) products. BUT, can you say salty? I am still drinking water to rehydrate.
Now, you are probably wondering what that has to do with my blog??
Nothing. Just needed a name for today's post and that was the first thing I thought of and I needed to tie it in somehow....
So, onto the card.
This month, The Sistahood of the Traveling Card is working on the theme "Christmas in July". My SCS friend, Jeanette (aka Forest Ranger), has inspired me to look for craft things at the sales my husband and I have been going too. I 'found' the ribbon on this card and spent a whole 25 cents on a huge, unopened spool of this and just knew that it was going to be my focal point of my card. Also used was the Medallion stamp from Stampin Up and a sentiment from Close To My Heart.
Thanks for stopping in on this "Thirsty Thursday"!
