Calendar Girls are at "IT" again

Posted by Picasa  Terry is our wonderful hostess this month.  And she is truly in the Spring mood with a water theme....

In her words: "My challenge to you is to show me your April showers!  I have 2 requirements for you:

1. Use an image with a duck, a puddle, an umbrella or anything resembling rain or water!

2. Use a fun technique on your card that is “water” related.

Well, I have a puddle and an umbrella.....missed out on the duck.  And my water technique which is hard to see is that the rain has crystal affects, or something to that affect, over it.  I posted two pictures with the hopes that you could 'see' it on one of them.  I wonder if the Calendar Girls would consided my clear bubble centers as water related?  Probably not....lol

Here's the second picture....so you don't think my ramblings are that of a nutty crafter....lol

The papers are all scraps, the image is Bugaboo Stamps, the sentiment is SU and the flowers are punched using a punch bt Creative Memories.  Oh yeah, colored up the immie with my Bic's and sentiment stamped in Cocoa by CTMH.

PLEASE, stop over to the blogs of the rest of the Calendar Girls.....we all love to get LOVE~

HAPPY MONDAY....

Can there be such a thing?  I suppose there can be!

Today's post highlights a May Day basket.  I made this for an elderly neighbor (don't tell her, she doesn't think she is a day over 29).  On the first of May, I will add some posies and a bit of chocolate (she has an affinity for both) and hang it on her door.

I made the basket by weaving two piece of 5by12 dp together and adding a heavy duty ribbon to it.  The tag has a personal message on the back for her....

Make sure you stop over at the Happy Monday Challenge Blog for another great challenge sponsored by Deedee's Digis!!

Creative Cowgirls meet Prairie Fairy...to Celebrate MOM

Well, school break is over and Easter is here....Hope you all celebrated the day in some way!
Mother's Day is what the Cowgirls are talking about for the next two weeks.

And, Prairie Fairy is helping us do that!

WINNER RECEIVES 4 IMAGES

TOP 3 EACH RECEIVE 1 IMAGE

And, Crafty Ribbons is throwing in a treat to a winner also!!

My card uses a darling image from PF titled 'In a Nutshell'.  I think it is such a cute image and was a ball to color up.  I will admit that I am much better at CAS, but this was fun!!  Stickles gave the wings some glitter and it was colored with CTMH inks and a blender pen.  The pearl cluster was a gifty to and I think it goes great with the embossed vellum over the coral card stock.

Make sure you stop over at the
to get all the deets on this wonderful challenge!

Terrific Tuesday....

Has everyone had a great day?  My son is on vacation this week, so my crafting time is at a minimum.  Not that I am complaining, but just a heads up as to where I am....

Today I want to show you cards I made for a woman at Church ~ she commissioned them ;-)

Both are birthday cards - one for her son who loves to golf and the other for her grandson who is turning the ripe old age of ONE!
Thanks for stopping by - hope you check back later in the week - I am finishing up a wedding card that I want to get posted - need some serious criticism....

Triple D

Nope, I haven't been hitting Diners, DriveIns or Dives....It's time for my blog group to Duel it out!

The Dueling Darlings are having Movie Night!  Melina and Joan came up with this wonderful theme for the month and sent us a kit to showcase this theme!!  WOOT WOOT

I had so much fun with the Kit from Melina.  I must be honest and say that I only used about half of it and have plans to make a little craft project for my EK in the very near future with what I have hoarded!!  Melina wondered if we would invite anyone over to watch this movie, but I have to say NO to that - I watch it about 3 times a week with EK...it's either that or Nemo...both seem to be getting kind of  'old'..lol

From the kit, I used the images (EK Success), Toy Story Paper (Creative Memories), half of the Chocolate Chip TopNote piece embossed with Spots and Dots (SU! and Cuttlebug), along with the buttons and brads from Hobby Lobby and the twine from Wal-Mart.  I didn't use a really cute star paper from DCWV, but did add just a bit of faded yellow card stock with SU! sentiment....lol

This kit was a ton of fun to work with and I hope you check out what the rest of the group made!!  It's always a lot of fun for me to see how our creativity blooms when using the same supplies!!  Remember to stop and leave love all around!!

What a CREATIVE day

You have to love when you wake up and know exactly what you want to create.  Those days are sometimes few and far between.  All crafting days are fun, but sometimes what create just blows your own mind away.  KWIM?

Yesterday, my friend and EK's mom, Johanna, asked if I had a card for a wedding shower that she is going to this weekend....  Seems I have cards for just about any occasion ~ except that!  So, I asked a few questions about this wedding-to-be and this is the card I came up with.

I loved this paper when I saw it a couple of weeks ago and after learning that the wedding was going to be black and white with a touch of red, I decided to go for it!  The card stock was all in my paper file and the stamps I used were by Stampin' Up!; Momento Tuxedo Black and CTMH Tulip Ink and four little rhinestone gems that I had hanging around.  Oops, forgot to say that the ribbon was off a package someone received last week....must not have been me, since I don't remember exactly where it came from.  LOL

Thanks for stopping in and let me know what you think!

It's time...

for another
Are you ready to join us?

Our theme this week was Easter.  I adore this image by Deedee - I think it conveys the perfect mix of awe for our Creator.  It is, afterall, the dawning of a new day; when the flowers and butterflies emerge after the long winter months just as Jesus was rose again to bring us a new life.

I colored up the egg with my Bic's for the most part and added just a hint of color to the egg itself.  I used a Fiskar punch at the edges of my scrap CS and added just a hint of ribbon and two little buttons.  Who does celebrate Easter with a little chocolate bunny and a colored egg or two?

Thanks for stopping in today and I hope you take the time to stop by Deedee's.  Her immies are so clean and versatile....and supah afordable!  We love you to link up to our challenge if you have a chance, use a Deedee's Digi and get her DollarDigi in your email....what isn't to like about that??

GiddyUp!

Well folks, the temps are finally getting more Spring-like here in Western New York and I am sooo very happy!

The Cowgirls are going on a virtual Spring Break this week - well, using Spring as a focal point this week.  Some think flowers and rainy days, to others it means the chance to get away for a few days.

I think it means getting out the sunscreen and taking a road trip to the beach.

This Digi with Attitude is Beach Tween and she is likin' the sun!  She is colored with my Bic's (love their boldness) and layered over my beach!  I am still on a mission to use every scrap I have saved, so (you guessed it) the DPs are all from my scrap box.  I thought my ribbon choice so complimented the image that I  added it to my 'beach'!  The rhinestone are every tweens bling of choice and my sentiment (gifted to me by Gael) seems like the perfect tween saying~

is offering up THREE digis to the winner this time around - and don't despair, the next three get a digi each!
SO, don't forget to link up your creations to the
....hey, you never know....

THE Reason for the Season

Did you hop today with the ladies who are celebrating The reason for this Lenten season....The hop starts with Heather and ends with Catherine.  In between there is so much talent showcasing their love of Jesus that you will be blown away!!

I hopped this morning before the needs of the house 'bothered' me and took Catherine's challenge to make my own card.  While it has been done most of the day and evening, I haven't had a chance to sit down and post it....lol....  And the whole reason I want it done before the new day breaks is that Lori is checking up on me...lol... Hope she stops by ;-)

While my card may not scream Easter to you, to me it has major components of the season.  The palm fronds, the regal purple depicting Him, the chalice surrounded by the wheat and grapes, and three little water pebbles to remind us of hte Holy Trinity.  Every time we take Communion, we are reminded of our Lord.  While it is in the forefront of the Christian mind this time of year, in must be thought of and reflected on throughout the whole year.

The dp is Palm Fronds by Frances Meyer; the image is First Holy Communion by Our Daily Bread Designs; the cs is out of my never ending supply and the immie was colored up with my Copics and highlighted with a bit of Smooch (the bottled kind, definitely not the spray kind...lol).

Here are two shots of the inside which continue the front's theme...

Thanks so much for stopping in,

It's only WEDNESDAY!

I hope I have my days of the week right and that Carol isn't rubbing off on me....lol

I am a day ahead of schedule with my post for Delightful Inspiration's Progressive Challenge....WOW

Here is my take on the challenge.  Isn't the Spotty Dotty Watering Can gorgeous??  Since I am a day early, in my way of thinking... you still have time to go pick up the freebie and make a project for this challenge which ends Thursday night!!

Colored with my Bic's, all paper from my scraps and some pinky/purply pearls and some blue rhinestones.

Thanks for stopping by~
I've been crafting, so let's hope my blog isn't lonely the rest of the week....will you be here to let me know?

Happy Day!!

What a beautiful weekend it was!  I tired myself out, not crafting :-(, but rather picking up sticks and raking the yard.  It looks soooo much better than it did!!

And, because I spent so much time putzing around the house and yard, you must excuse my picture of today's card.  It wasn't taken in the greatest light, and for that I apologize!!

This card is for the weekly challenge over at Deedee's Happy Monday Challenges.  It is a Pattern Challenge and asks to mix polka dots, stripes and checks ~ any or all of the three!!

I colored this image, Bloom Where You Are Planted, with my Bics and mounted both the image and sentiment on a piece of light blue cardstock on which I scored a check pattern.  I incorporated stripes and dots in my DP's!

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check out how the rest of the DT combined their patterns!!
