Calendar Girls! I Salute You!

It is the 28th of the month!  AND< that means that I have a post for the Calendar Girls!

Barb was our hostess and she challenged us to make a Patriotic Card.  Not a hard thing to do this time of the year!
Here is what she said in her own words:
Here is the Challenge for the Month of May…………. Memorial Day--a day of honor, remembrance, family picnics, parades, flags placed at cemeteries, concerts and the unofficial start to summer! So the challenge this month for the Calendar Girls is to ink up a patriotic stamp, get out the red/white/blue paper and DSP to post a card that shouts respect to your country and those who have served in the past. I would also like you to note in your post on the 28th what is in your plans this year or what typically has been part of your celebration in the past years on Memorial Day. Paola--my challenge to you is to also show us your Canadian Patriotism with a card that reflects the colors and images that you are proud of.

Barb (Miss May)

So, as you can see I used the red, white and blue along with a delightful digi from Deedee Anderson (her work can be found here).  I made a Spring Fold Card because I hadn't in a while ;-)  The red, blue and tan card stocks were from my stash and the pin and ribbon I just 'found' at an estate sale!  The great glitter paper (you cannot believe how it glitters IRL and how smooth it is) and the Candy Dots can be purchased in the Can You Digi It? Shop!

Thanks for stopping by! And please check out the blogs (found on my left sidebar) of the rest of the Calendar Girls!
They love luv too!

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY, OWH!

Not everyone can say: "My mother was a Marine!"

Yep, during World War II.  And, I am proud of the fact! Semper Fi!

To help commemorate her service and that of many, I am taking part in the Operation Write Home (OWH)  Blog Hop.    Here's where you can start the hop!

Michelle over at Can You Digi It? is helping sponsor and has some cool freebies here!  I have mixed the freebies with things available in the store, so check them out too!

Here are two cards that I made!
This card was based on Sketch #5 and this next one was just because...lol!

Thanks for stopping by!

Can You Digi It? Challenge

Here is the inspiration for the fortnight!

Every past, present and future serviceman/woman certainly deserves a hug ~ not only one day a year, but everyday!

AND, the It Girls want to recognize each and everyone who has played a part in our fight for freedom by showing our Love of Country!

What better than to use the C.Y.D.I? mascot on top of a sneak peek of digi paper CYDI will have available to celebrate with OWH!  The rivet and the actually Authentique paper (as are the stickles I used on the rivet) are also available in store....follow the links at the end of my post!

Thanks for stopping by!

ps.....Make sure you stop back over on the 26th to see more great Patriotic cards as we celebrate Memorial Day Weekend with Operation Write Home (OWH)!!
