Friday.....T-Day recap

Well, it is the next to last week for T-Day Challenges in Paola's Punch Card Swap. And. I am a day late...I sure do hope my fellow crafters will forgive me. My DH can attest to the fact that I had my card done, but I was just too tired to blog it...lol

Melina was our virtual hostess this week and asked us to use one stamp three times on embossed paper. I must admit that my card is not very imaginative, but is heartfelt. I was putting away some things and saw this DP from SU! I had the orange card stock on my desk and thought it went well with the paper, but then decided it was too dark for Spring time... So, I found the teals in my scrap pile and thought it went well with the rest.....

Okay, I even bored myself trying to tell you how this came to be....so, I am just going to show you and hope you ignored all that and will focus on my card!

Where did Spring go?

Are you one of 'those' people? You know, the ones that switch out furnishings, clothes, crafting supplies with the season?? To a certain, minimalist, way, I am. The weather was just gorgeous here in Western New York State a week ago.....today, not so nice! And, the weather dude (hi, Rich) said the "snow" word in his forecast....YUK

I digress....

I was thinking Spring, time, not boing, while making this card for TPE#141
The challenge was to use a butterfly. I am sure I could have doubled up, but I also followed the Mojo Monday #234 square card challenge and wanted to stick with a 4.25 by 4.25 inch card! It is square, but is a z-fold inspired by Kelly!

The paper was all a giftie from Michelle at C.Y.D.I? The stamps are current SU! The ribbon was from my stash..... AND, the butterfly was tatted by Karen, who you can find here.

Happy Birthday

The Calendar Girls are at it once again. It is "my" month to pick a theme and the CG's thought it was a doozy...lol

Here is what I said:
"This month's challenge:
{In another thread, we were talking about what kind of challenges we like best and that is where I got this idea}
I want you to make a birthday card based on your date of birth.
I would love you to use two parts of your birthdate and use the corresponding color and sketch challenges available on the forums.

Clear as mud, right?? Use two parts of your birthdate and the corresponding challenge to make a birthday card!"

So I used SC08 for my sketch and for my colors the equivalents of Only Orange, Night of Navy and Certainly Celery. I will admit that I didn't even know about SU! and stamping until about four years ago (I held off because I didn't want to become addicted, yeah right...lol). So, the colors of my card are as close as I could come.

Without further ado....
Here is my card:

The card stocks are all scraps, the ribbon from a dollar bin somewhere (think BigBox) and the stamps are from a*muse studio. I did add a little glimmer (Dazzling Details from SU) which is hard to see.

Thanks for stopping by! Please leave love with the rest of the Calendar Girls!! Their links can be found on my sidebar!

Pretty as a Peacock!

Can You Digi It? starts a new challenge this week!  And, it is a pretty one!!  Lots of color!!  Gotta love that!

I used Spellbinders to make the scroll to the left and to cut out the adorable image (Curly Girl by KiniArt).

The blues are different in the background, but it is hard to tell...the sun happened to be too bright when I took the picture.  I am aghast that I even typed that!! LOL

A Virtual Card

Okay, it is a real card...lol
But, it was made from items sent to me from Jeanette, who has recently started a virtual card club. Please check her blog for more info; and to see what I patterned my card after! {In a couple of days, I will show you one of the stamp sets I purchased in the club!}

T-Day!

Okay, I finished the card last night, BUT didn't get it posted...
And, I just can't call it an F-Day card.....

So, back to the card.....
In a punch art swap hosted by the wonderful Paola, we are challenged weekly by group member to use our punches....

The challenge runs Tuesday til Thursday.....hence, T-Day....

This week, Judy wanted us to be creative with flowers.

My SIL recently started a new job with VOA and she came home yesterday asking me for 200 cards by May 1st....lol....all appropriate for giving at Mother's Day (so glad that I rarely put sentiments on my cards ahead of time!).
Guess here is NUMBER ONE!

Thanks for stopping!

Chick Magnet

Yep, that is what my son is!

So, I inked up Lucas from BLD to celebrate my son being so popular with the girls! I think I will give him this card at Easter....seems appropriate!

I used scraps for this card. Inked Lucas with cocoa momento and used it around the edge of my blue card stock which was cut using my nestie. I kept it mostly simple, since it is for my son....the brad does have some bling but it doesn't show well in the picture!

I submitted this to The Pink Elephant Challenge Blog for their challenge TPE140

BTW, my son is twelve and attracts mostly girls six and under....lol

A Mystery Solved!

Today it is time to reveal the image from our latest immie in our Mystery Swap.

Oh, what excitement!!

I definitely went with a CAS approach! The striped paper came with the image, but everything else was from my stash! Sentiment is from CTMH.

A nice day....

for a bubble bath!

The morning started early for me....my cell phone went off at 12:21am.... It is never a great feeling when after having just gotten to bed the phone rings. But, alas, it wasn't terrible news, just that the EK (extra kid) I watch was sick and wouldn't be coming in the morning. Nice to know, but wow it was early. Not even like I got to sleep in because I still had to make sure my son got off to school...lol

So, I needed myself a nice bath this morning and Sassy Design Studio supplied me with one. Their new challenge is to use sponging on your card, so, after cutting around the immie with a nestie, I sponged on some pink ink. Which in turn, I thought was too bright, so sponged on some vanilla to give it more of a vintage feel.

I am also submitting this to the DT call at the new Twisted Tuesday Challenge(2TC) blog. Melina was really pushing my talents with wanting a pastel square card with a hint of black apparent somewhere. Yikes, pastels?? I guess you can't go wrong with pink! My blue flower is much more subdued IRL...lol. A little bead flourish and a paper pieced tub round out my cream based card!

Another T-Day Challenge

I am coming in just under the wire with this one! Must be the nice weather that Western New York is having! All that sunshine is pulling me outside!

Rosie was our hostess this week for our challenge within a swap. She wanted us to use solid card stock over a designer paper. {{I knew I should have bought that MS punch the other day at Michael's.}}

So, I dusted off my Cricut and worked up this card. I will admit that it isn't quite what I had in mind, but it works. Kyle says it is "epic", so it must be okay! ;-)

Let me know what you think!

Top O' the Mornin' Darlings!

Yep, we are at it again...the Duel is on!
You guessed it, the lovely lass Michelle asked us to make a wee St. Patty's Card with the kit she sent.
In it was:
Patterned paper....Basic Grey Origins.... sugar pea, Echo Park This and That...dots and plaid, and Reminisce...ShamRock
Ribbon and cording....American Crafts
Brads...................American Crafts
Glitter Shamrock....die cut at work, glitter paper
Pebblesinc......Button candy dots
Irish Blessing is computer generated and printed on SU! Whisper White, and SU! Cream
I truly didn't use half of what she sent...must be I am hoarding the left overs. I did add two shades of green card stock, a gem and a stamped Riley.

Please stop and leave LUV at the rest of the Duelers' blogs!!

Can You Digi It?

Well, the new challenge is up....
And,
I procraftinated!
It isn't that I didn't make a project...
It isn't that I didn't have time to post it....
It is simply that life took over last weekend and that Monday brought a killer cold and my head threatening to blow up!

The theme for the next two weeks is
"RAINBOW"
Check out the blog to see the very cool inspiration photo!

Without further ado, here is my card. It features the wonderful digital image in the shop (by Lily Pink Designs)! I cant say enough about the gem wheels and used those too..... All dp and cs was from my scrap file! And, it is a darling little tea bag holder (tutorial on SCS)!

Please note, I will add links later in the day and add the inspiration photo, but I really wanted you to get your head thinking of a great project to complete and link to the challenge ;-)
