Thanks....for all the support

Squigglefly Digitals has a new line out....lol...called InsideOuts!  This product line gives you both image/sentiment for both the front of your card and the inside....hence their name....
These are great!  Besides the set I won (shown here) I am in love with a couple more, which are sitting in my shopping cart waiting for me!!

I, of course, am submitting this card for their SFC #42.  My flowers were punched from the same purple paper which backed my sentiments for the card and then highlighted with my favorite white gel pen!   I made the hanger out of soldering wire.

Card Deets:
Image and Sentiments - Squigglefly
Glitter Paper - Colorbok
Purple Paper from my scrap file and punch with SU! mini
Bras colored with Copics

I'd also like to point out that Viv will be receiving this card, and some others as well.  She is a raising money for breast cancer awareness.  You can check out her blog here!

Bugaboo Challenge Entry

I was surfing through some of my favorite sites over the weekend and came upon Bugaboo Stamps and their Catch the Bug Challenge blog.  In case you aren't aware of this Bugaboo offers a wonderful freebie on Friday; and this week their darling Turtle with an Umbrella is a perfect match for their recent challenge of using kiwi, banana and coral.  While I am not exactly spot on with the colors, this is my submission to their challenge.  I have to admit that it was hard for me.  While I am not against this color palette, I rarely use it and had to scrounge around for some papers that would work.  All papers were taken from my scrap pile since I am on a kick to use everything up before buying more. And the Bugaboo image was colored with my Bic Mark-Its.  The sentiment is handwritten.  I did try some embellishments with this card, but didn't care for any that I had, so I went for CAS!  Although I did add a bit of ribbon/fiber to meet the challenge.....lol

Thanks for stopping by - I hope to have another entry for you tomorrow!!

Finally, Friday!

What a creative day I have had.

As many of you know, my middle name is "Procrastinator."  That being said; I finished up a birthday present for my EK's father.  Since I started watching him, I have made various gifts out of 12 by 12 scrapbook pages.  The frame holds a prominent place in their house to this day.
I kept it simple, since EK's dad is a guy's guy.  I took the colors from the shirt and made them the focus.  The only embellishment are three buttons in the top right corner.  The large picture is 5 by 5, the two corners are 4 by 4 and the three smaller ones are 3 by 3.  The five adjectives fit EK to a "T".

Of course, that isn't the only thing I created today....

This morning, I worked on the Hump Day Inspiration #4 over at Inktegrity's Challenge Blog.  What a fun challenge it was.  Here it is.

The image and sentiment are (obviously) from Inktegrity.  The Farmer Girl is color with Copics on white cardstock and mounted on dark blue cardstock.  Truth be told, I didn't like how it looked, so used some Frost White paint to tone down the blue and give a little glimmer.  The dps are Stampin' Up and the glitter around the sentiment is lily white glitter - sugar coating- by doodlebug designs.... I intentionally let the opposing corner curl just a bit to give it a more worn look.

And, because I just know I won't get anywhere near my crafting area tomorrow and possibly even Sunday, I made a card for SMC #9 wanting everyone to "Punch It."
This is an easel card in the upright position.  The outside of the card shows the pink Easter egg that has been "colored" with strips of paper that were punched on the top and bottom.  The sentiment is hand written next to Duncan emerging from an egg.  Duncan was colored with Copics and set on top of some foam tape to give him a boost.  The border punches are from Fiskars (found on clearance recently at Target for 6 dollars each) and all of the paper and ink are CTMH.

I believe I have bored you enough for one day.  Thanks for letting me share my creations with you today.

See you Monday!

Thursday's Thoughts

Good Morning everyone!

I am not sure where Wednesday went..... I guess life actually took over for the day....

I did get a card made, all while helping a friend update her cover letter and resume and having an EK (extra kid) at my place.  I, of course, did not mind doing either of those things, but they certainly took away from my crafting.

It did take me all day to make this card - not the norm for me....usually, I have an idea right away, or I don't bother trying.  (Like that makes any sense??)

That being said, here is what I crafted yesterday.  I did straighten out the sentiment after taking the picture, but was really too tired to take a new picture. LOL

This card was inspired by The Greeting Farm.  TGF is having a five week challenge that pits "teams" of designers against each other; with half of the teams getting voted off until it is whittled down to a winning team.  Each team is made up of three to five crafters where one person follows the challenge posted on Wednesday and delivers by Saturday.

Yes, I am on a team.  We call ourselves The Forest Farmers; due to the fact that we met on SplitCoast Stampers in the 'forest.'  Obviously, this isn't our submission for the week, but it is my take on the challenge.

Details:
The image is Charlotte from TGF; colored with Copics E00 and E33 and Bic Mark-Its in Moonstone Yellow, Hot Aqua, Tranquil Teal and Tiki Hut Tan - highlighted with my gold Gelly Roll pen.
The card stock is from Stamping Up!
The card base was out of my scrap pile.
The designer paper is ColorBlok.
The sentiment is from CTMH.
And the ink is Cranberry Crisp  Champagne Mist from SU! along with Goldrush and Brown Bag from CTMH.
Extras - I took my files to the edges for more of a distressed look (not sure if this fits TGF's idea of retro), added a scrap of ribbon, and popped the sentiment up with foam dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping by and I will see everyone again soon!!

Tuesday's Treasure

Today, I am showing you a card I made for two separate challenges.  The layout is from The Crafty Ho's Challenge and the I incorporated the challenge at Squigglefly.  Squigglefly asked that you use buttons and one of their images.  I chose one of their free images and moved the dream bubble over so that I could use buttons to connect the sheep to his dream.

The card stock and ribbon are both scraps, the light blue d/p and the wall are both scraps from SU!, the image was colored with Copics, and the buttons were cut off a couple of my DH's shirts which have seen better days....  LOL

Make sure you check out both Squigglefly (they have a new line of images coming out at the end of the week and you get a sneek peek) and the Crafty Ho's!

Happy Creating on this Rainy Tuesday!

A Marvelous Monday

If you read yesterday's post, you would know that I was unhappy with my submission to Sew Many Challenges....

Therefore, I tried again.  My  interpretation this time is a bit looser.  You can check it out at Week 8 Sew Many Challenges.  While the image is not from their collection, it is by Soft Pencil, one of their sponsors.   The paper is SU! and the image is colored with Copics.

I think she is waiting for Spring to truly get here.

I hope you will check out Sew Many Cards and even participate in their challenge....if not this week, there is always next!!

Simple Sunday

Well, I like to participate in Sew Many Challenges....while this is not my best work, it does fit the layout challenge.   I think the biggest challenge was getting to my scrap area today.  I have been trying to reorganize my area....which as many of you know is easier said than done.  That being said, my area is a mess, I had to be up extra early for church and it was just a basically blah day for me; but I did make a card.

I am happiest with my coloring.  That is done with CTMH markers....the basket to me looks so real.  The papers are all CTMH also, the ribbon is left over dollar bin, and of course, the image is from Sew Many Cards.

I hope everyone had a great weekend; and that their Monday is Marvelous....

No Creating Today

Well, it was my intention to make a new card today.  Somehow though, the day got a way from me and the sunshine won out in the end.

This morning we participated in Scouting For Food and Clothing.  My son just crossed over to Boy Scouts and I am no longer a Den Leader; but there I was training after him with bags to be ties to door knobs (next Saturday we will pick it all up....ugh).  We finished that up in time to make it to his last Floor Hockey Game, then went looking for a pair of pants for him and then the the Genesee Country Village and Museum.  They are a living historical village and they were having activites around Maple Sugaring.  Was a very nice day out in the weather, albeit a bit breezy for my liking.  Then is was supper time and now we have just finished up watching "New Moon."

So, it is just about 10:30 my time and no card to show for the day.

But, I promise to get a card made and posted before the end of tomorrow.

Friday Feature

It is interesting that I am trying to blog and yet haven't told anyone that I am.  Guess I want to see if I can keep at it before I tell people.  Sounds like a Catch-22 to me.

Here is a card that I made for a Sew Many Cards Challenge....came out almost as I wanted it to.  Sure wish I had cleaned up my mess before taking the picture though!

I hope everyone has a wonderful sleep and I will see y'all tomorrow!

I'm going to try again!

I am so intimidated by this whole blog thing. I can't seem to give it my all. I love reading what others have posted and am becoming more of a follower. Out of necessity, because I love to submit challenges, I am going to give this another try. I don't promise to have anew post daily, BUT, I am going to shoot for weekly!!
