Just a quick post - for a change I have not much to say!

Another sneek peek of a card for one of my swaps over at SCS...

Wacky Wednesday!

For those of you who know me, I have been complaining about being stuffed up.  Well, DH ''made'' me take a decongestant today...lol...While it is wacky that I'd take something, it was wackier that I took two short naps this afternoon....

Thank goodness the turkey roasted itself!

While I snoozed away part of the afternoon, it was in the back of my mind that I needed to get a card done for the CHALLENGE over at Crafting With Deedee's Digis.  This Monday, the challenge is to use orange, yellow and green.

I used the digi "Something to Crow About" on top of some scraps I had leftover from who knows what.  It is colored with my Bic Mark-Its and the fiber is from Close To My Heart.  The sentiment comes as part of the set!!

Thanks for stopping by...
I am off to blurf for a bit (since I napped, I don't feel too tired yet, lol).

My Favorite

This it my favorite time of year!  I love that the heat is leaving and the days are still nice and the nights are clear and all in all, it is good sleeping weather.  I am not sure that I could live without the changing of the seasons.

There are so many digis out that depicting autumn and the changing of the seasons.  This one from Deedee's Digis is no exception.  I love this image and had to color it right up!

I live in the Finger Lakes Region of New York and we are wine country.  There are many local vineyards and they provided great inspiration for this!

I paired up the digi with one of the included sentiments - you can see them all here.
I also followed the challenge over at Stamp N Doodle of purple and brown.  I won't submit it for their challenge, but had to give it a try.

Thanks for stopping by!

CUP Sunday

CUP?
yep, Cowgirl Up!

So, it is Sunday and that means a new challenge over at Cowgirl Up Sunday Stampen' Challenge blog!  The challenge this week is Hip to be Not-Square.  So, the challenge is to make a card that is not a square or rectangle.

I was lucky enough to be gifted an image from Delicious Doodles.  Now, to be honest, it is a robin; but it reminded me too much of a precious chickadee, so I colored it up that way.

So, I made a card shaped as an ornament. The image is behind a treat cup from SU and has just a bit of bird seed in it. The back has room for "To and From" to be added!

Now, for more honesty....
This was my third try at this challenge....see, I was so excited over the image that I forgot to make my card into a shape....lol...I could have torn my card apart, but like it too much, so it will be sent to a worthy recipient.  My second try was a shaker card to remind me of an ornament....Well, let's just say that no one in my family liked it completely.....

So, now you see why I stuck with showing you the ornament first....lol

Thanks for stopping by here to check out my crafting....Make sure you check out the challenge and leave some love for the rest of Posse!  Link up at the challenge and you could win 3 DeliciousDoodles Digis!!

Saturday, in the park....I think it is the 18th of September....

I vowed that I would do justice to this week's image over at Delightful Inspiration.  Faith has great images and I so haven't been doing my best work with them.

So, I set about making a card with it this morning!

I am still a CAS card maker.  I definitely need visual inspiration in order to bling it up, or use tons of layers.

So, with that being said; here is my card for Faith's progressive challenge.

This card does lay flay when closed.  The Scaredy Cat image folds down and it hidden behind the candy corn when the card is 'closed'.  And, there is room to write your own greeting when the time arises!

While this doesn't work this week for Double Delight's challenge, it does make me HAPPY that
1) I didn't wait to color it up
2) I am 'early' with the challenge
3) I have a Saturday blog for a change....

Fabulous Friday

The day is going well and somehow, I got a project done to put here....I know, WOW!, a second post today.  Well, I was going to save it for tomorrow, but want to link it to a challenge (etc) and not sure I will be around tomorrow....
So, here it is tonight!!

This is for the Happy Monday Challenge over at Crafting With Deedee's Digis!  The challenge was to make something to share with others.  If you read here regularly, you know that I love to repurpose things.  Today's project is no exception!

This is a kuchen holder from our local grocery store (minus the tin) and I have washed it and then cover it with DP and topped that off with the "Let It Snow" digi that is available here.  I have place some ribbon in the picture to show you what I will be using to finish off my project once my Christmas cookies are made and put in here for my neighbors.  I also used the digi to make a 'matching' card to give with the cookies!
While I can't give it to them right now, it is ready to use!

Thanks for stopping by a second time today!

TUC Challenge

Well, somehow, I missed the last two challenges with my 'blog group.'  I didn't mean to, but some days it is harder to get a post made than others!
This challenge was to make a card that showcases what you like about the changing seasons.  I have definitely been in the autumnal mood (is that even a word?), so this was an easy challenge for me.

I used a digi from Deedee's Digis and kept my card simple.
I stuck with various colors of card stock to represent what I like about Autumn.  The card base is a grey blue which reminds me of the color of the skies this time of year.  The green behind the image is to show how we are seeing less and less grass on the ground and the hues of red and orange are to show how those are the colors we are seeing more and more of.  I did add an epoxy paperclip, tied with various ribbons for some texture....and I felt bad that there was no DP on the card, so added some burlap paper to sit under the sunflower....

Thanks for checking out my Friday blog~

{{On a side note, did you get your Christmas cards sent to CJ on the Cowgirl Up Ranch?  There is still time, check it out!!}}

Let's Get Ready To...Duel

Well, it is the 15th of the month and that can only mean one thing.

It's time for my DDD post....Yep, the Dueling Darlings are at it again!

This month, the theme was "Cute and Fluffy".

Card Front

The inside; showing the gift card holder
The Darlings received a great kit from the wonderful Melina.
It included:
House Mouse image entitled "Make a Wish"'
Orange polka dot paper from SU
Multi-colored polka dot paper from DCWV
A chipboard cloud (unused)
Four half pearls from KaiserKraft
Blue ricrak ribblon from WM

I added a piece of white card stock for the card base and the sentiment, a piece of rust colored CS for the card, and a piece of blue CS for the gift card holder.

Thanks for checking out my craftiness today and please stop by the rest of the Dueling Darlings....I need to go see what the Divas had to work with, as well as, what the rest of the Dazzlers did with our kit.  Here are links so that you can easily spread the LOVE!

It's a Marvy Monday!

The challenge this past week over at Fresh Brewed Designs was to use brown on your project~  How simple is that??  Brown is one of my favorite colors, especially when it is paired with a baby blue.

This card was fun to make!  I used one of Heather's digis from her birthday celebration and some of my favorite scraps....and I have been hoarding that paper for over a year because I can't find it!  I used some smooch around the image and attached the flower with a brass brad and added a blue crystal on top of that.

Thanks for stopping by on this Marvy Monday!

So, it's Saturday....

I have bee n looking forward to today....no school for the kiddo, now EK for me...no getting up at 6:15am....

WAIT, I was up at 6:15 am....

Yep, my internal clock has now been set....three days in and I know to get up to see my son off to school.

Oh well, it was quiet in the house and I got this card made...

This is using the Friday Freebie from Digital Delights by Louby Loo.  Isn't Mr. Straw a handsome fellow?  I teams him up with some autumnal CS and some DP depicting burlap...What says Fall more than these??

Thanks for stopping by - hope to see you tomorrow as the Cards for Solders Campaign kicks off at RANCH!

Twofer...

Ok, I know that I already made a post today.... But, I have another one...lol

I love the digis at Designed2Delight/Delightful Inspiration.  And, I made a card using it and Carly's very cute sketch....But, I hated it and decided to not use it this week.  I did put the sketch into my notebook, until I have the perfect embellie for it (I have something in mind and didn't have it; tried improvising, and well, didn't do so well).

So, this is the card you get.

Everything was from my scraps except the little mosaic tile pieces.

Thanks for stopping by!

April

and then...

it was Thursday....

Can you believe how fast the week is going by?  I just can't believe that school has started and I am home (relatively) alone...

To celebrate; I used  Lazy Days of Summer from Cowgirl Up and the theme from the Crafty Ho's Challenge (Peace)~ my card depicts the peace a mother feels when school starts and she can take a day for herself....

The paper was all leftovers, and I traced a chipboard cloud I had to make mine out of place white CS.  I added some chunky sparkles and used foam squares to give it the card dimension.  The sentiment "aaaahhh" was stamped with some white paint....it even seems to be tapering off as if you were saying it ;-)

I hope you have all been making your Christmas cards for the drive over at Cowgirl Up!  We start collecting on Sunday ~ the details will be on the challenge blog.

Thanks for stopping by!

Tardy Tuesday....

Well, I have been fiddly-foolin' around and not getting this posted today.

Well, maybe I did do a few constructive things (cleaned the kitchen and living room, went grocery shopping and put them away and, I know what we are having for supper), but I still had it in my head to get this posted earlier today...

This is my card for the latest Forest Swap....  This one is all about friends~
And, what is better than one doing a good turn toward another?  Albeit, these are unlikely friends~

Deets??
The images are from Bugaboo
The DP is Grateful Tree Farm from ki
The CS is from my box o' paper
The button is vintage from an estate sale

Hope you have enjoyed today's card...

Are you happy?

Well, Mother Nature decided that I was being a crab apple and complaining too much about the heat and humidity; so, she decided to rain on my parade....

So, I have spent the morning blurfing and coloring and being a bum~

One of the fruits of my labor is this card, featuring the newest digi (Bushel of Blessings) over at Deedee's....  Can everyone say woohoo....she has created 100 digis and is giving this one away!!  Plus, if you make a card for her challenge, will email you another freebie....

I kept my card of  the simple side...I think it all flows really well without any DP behind it...if I were to change it up, think I would use a wood background and make the panel on the left a DP featuring fall leaves...  Anyhow, the digi and sentiment are both from Deedee's, and the rest is scraps...I have been making many fall themed cards and this was all on my desk, so that is what got used....lol

{{In case you haven't realized, I love to use my scraps!! I am definitely a recycler and my family will attest to this!}}

Thanks for stopping by on this (US) Labor Day!

Fabby Friday

Good Morning!
Quick post ~ before it gets too hot to use the laptop....
This is a card that I whipped up to celebrate the heat of paradise.  The sentiment and flowers were gifted to me after a recent swap, so thought I'd actually make something with them, rather than hoarding them.

I hope everyone has had a taste of their paradise!

While I have you captive, I'd also like to point out that you still have time to hop with us at Cowgirl Up!!  Lots of fun and chances to win!  We also have a Christmas Card drive kicking off on September 12, where all the cards sent will be going to our troops so that they may send cards home.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you over the weekend!!

Thursday, September 2, 2010

Well, the challenge ends in two hours and here I am....posting my card now....lol

I hope Mother Nature gives me a respite sometime soon!!  I don't craft well in the heat and I still didn't take everything I needed to FIL's to finish any one project....

This is my card using last Friday's Freebie from Designed2Delight on the Delightful Inspiration blog.  It also qualifies for the challenge at Double Delight Challenge blog.  I also am using this card to send to Faith's dad who has not been feeling quite up to par....

Thanks for stopping by~
See you in a bit with another card or two....

Happy, Happy Hump Day

I think that Mother Nature is having hot flashes!
The temperature here has been in the 90s.... Can you say "Steamy"?

In deference to the heat, I have been spending a lot of time at my FIL's where there is AC....
Love the AC, but I truly taking my craft 'stuff' with me... I never seem to have what I need!

I did get this card made today (also colored, but didn't have everything I needed to make them into cards).

This card uses one of Deedee's Cuties for a Cure.  The challenge over at her site this week was to use an animal that could be a pet on your card.  This just goes to show you how versatile these little cuties are!!

Thanks for stopping by; and I hope to see y'all tomorrow!!
