Did You See??

There is a new challenge over at Can you Digi It?

Bird is the Word!!

I used a digi element by Green Godess Creations that can be found in the store.
I printed it out, Modge Podged it to a piece of cereal box, let it dry, cut and distressed it. Great tag for my BFF's birthday present....

The extras are sentiments from a 2005 SU! Set.....am I dating myself??

I also used Embellie Gellie and a single gem from the store!

Here is the inspiration photo....what can you create?

Happy CG Day!

Time for another post highlighting the Calendar Girls (their blogs are on the left, check them out)!

Carol was our hostess this month, and she wanted to celebrate Christmas in July!!

FUN

Here is my card:

She asked us to use some glitter, and I must admit it didn't photograph well. The snowflakes have glitter and the red brad is glitter-icious too!

Oops, I was supposed to tell you a favorite memory of Christmas.... One year, we had a white Christmas. My father told us all to come to the front window (all being Mom, bro and me). Out he goes to our garage and comes back "paddling" my brothers new canoe down the slope of our front yard! A Christmas I will never forget!

Summer Fun

This was a fun card to make!
I have been begging chiding ASKING my hubby for a hammock all summer long!
I think this is the closest I will come this year to having my own!

Anywho, I made this card combining the challenge at The Pink Elephant (TPE#158) - Summer and 365 Cards Day 146 - Geometry.

I used a new to store artist from Can You Digi It?, A Creative Need!  LOVE this immie and so many others in the store right now!

You guessed it - everything was from my left overs....lol....I will shop my stash until it is gone!!  The sentiment is CTMH and the cool pin wheel can be found here.

Thanks for stopping by today!

{K}not!

Happy Wednesday! Can you tell that EK has been here this week?? No time for serious crafting! Lol (good for the wallet though!)

Today, I have a card for you that is appropriate for Mojo Monday #251 (MOJO251) and Twisted Tuesday #16 (2TC16).

So, I obviously followed the sketch at MOJO251 and used trees and a knot for 2TC16. The paper and card stock is all from my stash. The ribbons is too! Embellished with some gems, glue and dimensionals found here.

The dp is from Crate Paper Toy Box Collection ~ everything else is from my stash! I hope Uncle Gordon like my easel card depicting soft (the cute mutts) and hard (the bookplate hardware)!!

Delicate

Another day, another challenge at 365 Cards...

Thursday's challenge #141 was to embody the word "Delicate"....
If you knew me IRL, you'd know that bull in a china shop is more me...lol

But, I gave it a try.....and paired it up with this week's Wednesday Sketch Challenge #81 at MFT. My OCD must be lessening b/c I only used the sketch as a guide today....lol

Layered Stamps....

I must admit....I own ONLY two background stamps...so, today's challenge #140 from 365 Cards was a rough one for me!

I hope I rose (as much as I could) to the occasion.

The background stamp was gifted to me {thanks Linda} and is from Holly Berry Stamps. All others are from SU! I stamped on the light paper, fussy cut and adhered it to the darker card stock. Punch is from SU! too. I added a little bit of bling (using my favorite tools ~ Embellie Gellie and Best Glue Ever).

I can't wait to see what else will challenge me this week.....hope you check in on me and see!

Three in a Row

Yep, still working at making this week's worth of cards at 365 Cards. Going to be harder now that the week is catching up with me...lol
Tuesday brought a TWISTED theme for Day 139 Pam wanted to see something twisted or braided ~ twine, ribbon, whatnot!

I used a set from MFT and paired it with scraps. I am on a mission to work my stash down! My "twist" is the red cording under the sentiment (like you couldn't tell that)
I know I have been a "posting fool", so want to thank you all for the luv you bestow upon me!

Mystery Challenge ~July

Over on SCS, I am in a swap where we use a "Mystery Image". I am sure you have heard me mention this previously, so I won't expound...lol

Kate was out 'Hostess with the Mostess' this time around and she sent a pony immie from SU! I also added some stamped images from the latest Sale-abration.

I make mostly cards for boys or ones with flowers, so it stretched my creativity to use am image I think of as girly...lol. Kate has a young daughter, so I made a set of cards with her in mind.

It's a Two-fer Tuesday

Time for another Twisted Tuesday Challenge (2TC15)....the team wants to see CHOCOLATE inspired creations with the twist being to use glitter (yikes)!
And, Melissa has another sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches (#155) that you must pop over and see so that you can compare my card to it....lol; and maybe give it a try yourself!

You can't really see my vellum sheet in my picture, but it is there. I took some liberties with the sketch....I like to think of it as loosening up my OCD strings.....lol. And, IRL, the plate is so shiny you need your sunglasses!

A Day at the Beach

Well, Western New York has had a heat wave this year....and not a beach in sight!  Well, not one that is open anyhow....can you say bacteria in the water?

The challenge this time around at Can You Digi It? is beach related....isn't this a great inspiration collage?

I took my colors from the top right, but went with a flirty theme because that is what I thought of when I first heard beach!!

From the store, I used LilyPink's Alphabet Dress, some twine and that gorgeous flower!  The design of my card came from deconstructed sketch #60.  All papers were from my stash, as was the cute button on my tag!

Thanks for stopping by!
You have two weeks to get in on our challenge - hope to see you there!

A Mojo-phant

Yep, it is what you get when you mix the Mojo Monday #250 Challenge with The Pink Elephant #157 Challenge!

TPE asked to use the color orange and MM gave us this sketch:

Orange is easy for me....my favorite color! And, I loved the sketch, but did tweak it just a hair.

This card, and three others just like it will be going to my Sistah Fay for the current SOTC swap over on SCS!

Take Two

Day two of trying to makes a week of cards toward the 365 Card challenge blog.

Monday's theme was to make a card depicting
ENCHANTED

This worked better in my head than on paper, but my son likes it so it is good to go!

Image and sentiment are from Peachy Keen Stamps, all other ingredients are from my stash!

I was at a loss last night and decided to roll off the couch and create a card....

But, what to create? I was reading my blog roll and came across 365 Cards and their sketch today. I decided to try to do the whole week since EK doesn't come until the end of the week ;-)

{The orange dotted background is just that; and not part of the card!}

Let the DUEL begin

Well, maybe not begin, but continue on! It is the 15th and that means I am posting my kit card from the Dueling Hostess! This month is Darlene's turn to hostess ad she sent a fabby dabby kit.
It included (in Darlene's words):
Image is from Art Impression's "Golden Oldies series, entitled BBQ Couple (isn't it fun?!)
DP: Karen Foster Designs: Food & Family Collage; Ants on Parade; Barbecue Bash
DP: Reminisce: Picnic Parade; Grill Master
Stickers: Reminisce: Backyard Bash
Other misc. embellishments are from my stash here, no particular vendor.
She also asked: Please post a favorite barbecue recipe, or a salad or side dish recipe that is a hit with your family when getting together for cookouts.

I just love the immie that was sent and had a great time coloring it up!

My recipe to share is:
Loaded Baked Potato Salad
4lbs taters
1lb bacon, cooked crispy and crumbled
4oz softened butter
1/2c chopped green onions
2c grated cheddar cheese
1.5c sour cream
Salt and pepper to taste

Cook taters and let cool. Cut into chunks. Combine all other ingreds. and fold taters in. Let chill and hour+ then check salt and pepper. Serve!

Make sure you stop at the rest of the blogs to see the other cards in the duel!

WELCOME Mike!

I am so very excited!
There is a new artist in the Can You Digi It? Store!!

His name is Mike Eustis and you can see his website here.

I was privileged to be able to use this darling image to show off his work today!

The outside of the card is rather plain, but once open I tried a new technique (to me at least) and have the image popping up on a pedestal!!
I hope you stop by the Can You Digi It? blog today to see what the other IT Girls have created for you!  Their blogs are on the left sidebar for you!!

Merry Christmas!

Have you ever read your blog roll and just known what you were going to create?

My friends are ĂĽber talented and always challenge me to do my best. They also are great enablers and lead me to fun challenges!

Today was no different! I saw three fun challenges (pointed out by three different talented crafters) and decided to combine them!
First, another great sketch from Mojo Monday #249
Then, Riley and Co. was looking for a Christmas card (Riley1412)
And lastly, Twisted Tuesday (2TC14) was looking for a holiday card with a Take 2 Twist.
I used twine (yellow, at that) and stickles for my twist and celebrated Christmas with You're a Star Riley.

And, I truthfully only used scraps and embellies from my stash for this card! How'd I do?

I am crabby.....

The title of my post really has nothing, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, to do with my card tonight. Just wanted to vent a bit so I could share my crabby-ness in blogland! I love my family, don't get me wrong, but sometimes I just wish I lived alone! Okay, not really! My 'me time' today was nil. Hence the reason I am posting near midnight. LOL

Let me tell you....my day started with me in my bathrobe opening the door to the Dish Dude. Then EK came...yep, still in my bathrobe talking to the Dish Dude....then, EK's tutor came as I was ushering Dish Dude out.....yep, STILL in my bathrobe...finally a shower and real clothes.... My DH threw his back out on Sunday....yep, he was home too....my SisIL's fiancée had back spasms and thought it could be heart related....yep, home too.....FIL?....he was home too.....DS, yep....he and his friends....

So, I didn't see my craft desk until just about 11pm. But, my mojo kicked in, my card came together as I imagined it and once again, I am ready to tackle a new day!

My card uses the deconstructed sketch #59 and features image and sentiment from Peachy Keen Stamps. I tried something new with water color paper....interesting is all I have to say about that. I used CTMH inks and a water color pen, Copics, chalks, and TH Distress Markers. All in all, I like my end result! Papers are SU (the floral print) and DillyDally by My Mind's Eye; and, the ribbon is from the Can You Digi It? Store!

Oh? You want to actually see the card...lol.... Well, here it is. Hope it was worth it....

July Challenge at PKS

Challenge #1 this month over at the new release party for Peachy Keen Stamps was to create a scene.... Ta~da.... Mr. turtle is sunning himself on some rocks with the hills and clouds in the background.

All card stocks were from my stash and the immie from PKS was colored with my Bic's.

A Summer Hop

As you know, I design for the Can You Digi It? store and have THE best boss around! Michelle loves to create, always has a kind word and is so very generous! Not only to her team, but to those who visit her blog also!

This weekend she is taking part in a
HOP
and there are
FREEBIES!

Because she is such a great boss, I decided to show off some of her designs and help "draw" attention to the hop!

I did add an image which wasn't included in her freebies, but I really thought it all went together! I made a hybrid card ~ the only tactile part is the ribbon! I surprised myself with how much I am getting into digital cards! I layered the papers and brads, topped those with the immie of the bug and ta-da a card front! I colored the bug with my Bic's and that was all she wrote!

I can't wait to hop myself so that I can check out all the freebies myself!
