CG Olympics!

The theme this month is Calendar Girls Olympics! And Debbie asked us to:

1. The colors of the rings on the Olympic flag are: blue, yellow, black, green and red. Your card must have at least one embellishment and it must be in one of those colors.

2. Please make a card based on one of the Olympic events. The events in this summer’s Olympics are: Archery, Badminton, Basketball, Beach Volleyball, Boxing, Canoeing, Cycling, Diving, Equestrian, Fencing, Soccer, Gymnastics, Handball, Judo, Rowing, Sailing, Shooting, Swimming, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Tennis, Track and Field, Trampoline, Volleyball, Water Polo, Weightlifting, and Wrestling.

She also asked that, when posting to your blog, please let us know what your card represents about the Olympics.

She also mentioned that she wanted us to get creative with what you have. Use die cuts, stickers, stamps, whatever you have. I do not want anyone to have to go out and buy something.

So, all that being said (and owning many sports stamps) I decided to honor local girl Abby Wambach. She's a soccer player, you know....lol. Once I got creating though, I realized I needed a boy card for one of my son's friends. So, it morphed into a boy card!

Obviously, I used RED as my Olympic color (but threw in some blue for contrast). My red embellie is the heat embossing in the background. (Does that count??). My popped up soccer ball is black, if you'd rather count that as my embellie.....lol. I used a Puddle Jumper from Lori Boyd (Lucas, to be exact) and the soccer ball stamp was from a set gifted to me and it has been used so any times the wrapper is no longer intact! I also used some half pearls attached with The Best Glue Ever (used Embellie Gellie too).

Make sure you check out the rest of the Calendar Girls' creations (links on my sidebar)!

With Great Sympathy

Don't get worried...no one is in need of my card today.  In fact, FIL is just home from his trip to his 'summer home' aka the hospital.

I am going to blame him for the lateness of this post.

My card today features CYDI? for the Sisterhood of Crafters.  We are sponsoromg this go-round and would love you to enter a SYMPATHY card over there!!!

Here is mine for some motivation!

Game On!

It is the 15th and that means it is time to Duel it out with some of my favorite crafters!

For those that don't know...we have two teams that each month get supplies from the team's hostess and we make a project based on the month's theme.

This month, in order to celebrate National Scrabble Week, our theme is "Are You Game?"

The kit which Jeanette sent us had:
Image ~ Art Impressions "Bingo"
DP ~ Tessa Collins Freestyle Collection
Embossed Paper ~ Tim Holtz Mini Bingo Card, Rays and Ticket (all on SU c/s)
Embellishments ~ Morex Organdy Ribbon, Prima Flower, Studio 18 Rhinestones and various buttons and brads.
We also each got a Scrabble tile with our initial on it!

The challenge this month was to use our kit in a new way; try something we hadn't before!

That being said, I made an exploding mini album.  (The tutorial can be found here.)

As you can see, I have included both open and closed shots.
I will admit the I did omit the word BINGO and the bingo card from the immie because I have it in my mind that this will be used to celebrate a new baby!  I also substituted ribbon because I needed a longer piece to close the album with!

Make sure you check out the rest of the DUEL!
We all love luv!

Purple Please...

Woohoo!
It is Tuesday and that means another challenge over at Can You Digi It?  I am getting more comfortable, albeit not better, at this "digi-thing".

Today I used digi paper and images from the store and had a purple field day!  {I must admit that I am so not in the purple mood now that THE wedding is over.}

Here is a little inspiration for you....a great collage from us....

And, my card!

I made a 4.25 inch square card using SU cardstock and  Alphabet Dress, Purple Paper, Embellie Gellie, the Best Glue Ever, and half pearls from the store!

Thanks for stopping by this morning!  I think my mojo is back so you will be seeing more of me!

Stop!

And, smell the flower!
For an unidentified swap, Janet sent the group an image and today was its due date!

Despite the family being in chaos, I wanted to show you my card.....

Anyone with a prayer or two extra to spare, my FIL could benefit!
