January Crafters of Faith

Good morning! Well, it is morning... My head isn't as foggy as yesterday, so that is good. I finished my project yesterday and decided to grab photos later, well my bed called and I didn't get back to my desk until this morning...lol
Being the last day of the month, it is time to post for y Crafters of Faith blog group. These ladies are the best prayer warriors and always know just the right thing to say as way of encouragement!!

Sharon was our theme hostess this month and here is what she said:

2013 is here! What a great time to clear out the old to make way for the new.

* For this challenge, I would like to see you use both old stash and new stash to create your card/project.

* To add a little fun to the challenge, I'd love to see you try a new technique -- something you've never done before. You can check out google, youtube, or even the SCS forums and galleries for inspiration!

* Make sure you tell me what's new and what's old and post a link or give a little description of the technique you used.

Using from my stash, comes natural. I am trying not to buy (I have bought a few things....GCs from Christmas, you know), so the new part of my stash was hard...lol

What I came up with uses paper from last years Sale-abration from SU! and a ribbon spool I just added to my stash after 'cleaning' up my area. My spools of ribbon are kept on long dowels and many were empty, so I decided to start the new year cleaning....lol

My inspiration came from Close To My Heart:

And now, I am sure you can't wait to see my interpretation....lol
First, let me tell you I broke out some Adirondack alcohol ink.....never opened, to color the interior of the spool and distress the edges. I stamped the flourishes and fussy cut them and then added half pearls and some twirls....and, I used a MFT rose die (which I HAD to have and never like the finished project). All stamps from CTMH, everything else from my stash....

And, here it is!

And, a close up of the top:

Let me know how I did....please ;-)

Make sure you stop my the other COF blogs (see my sidebar) because they love luv too!!

{PIN}spiration 42

Back again....yep, you can't get rid if me!
This time, I am working off this wonderful picture:

This time around, we are being sponsored by

and

Please stop by and visit Gingerloft and Pink Cat Studio and see all the greatness there!

I also think that after seeing my card (it is coming) you should hurry over to the {PIN}spiration Challenge, check out what the rest of the {PIN} Gals have to share and then enter your creation!

{Card Deets: image by Gingerloft, everything else from my stash.}
I think I need to explain that this card will be going to my SIL and her DH. I went two color rather than multi; and repeated just the heats rather than the circles. The dp mimics the feel of the stamping on their original invites as seen here:

Mojo 278

As I said yesterday, my mojo has returned. And what better way to celebrate than to play along with Mojo Monday 278, The Pink Elephant Challenge #184 and the DT over at 'ABC' Challenge #14!
So, I created a Valentine with a heart using this sketch:

I need to shout out and thank Mo Manning for her recent freebie! She has some of THE best artwork around!

My card also qualifies for my

Calendar Girls ~ Photo Inspiration

Jeanette picked our theme this month and (once again) it was a great one!!
Woot! Woot!
In her own words:
This is a PHOTO INSPIRATION Challenge. But there’s a catch! You have to choose your own photo.
I want you to find a photo – it can be a picture you’ve taken (of a family member, a scenic drive, a food you’ve cooked, whatever) or it can be a picture someone else has taken. Maybe you even found it on the internet. After you’ve chosen the PHOTO you want to use, create a card/project inspired by that photo.
Of course on your blog post – when you show us your creation – we also want to see the photo that inspired you.

I chose to use this photo.

I hope Pansy doesn't see it, because it really is a terrible photo. UNTIL, you realize that EK took it of himself with my iPad. LOL
From that picture I came up with this card:

It also counts toward my hundred, bringing my total to 27 unique projects and 53 total. The image is Max by Country Bumpkin Stamps (hi Lorie) and the sentiment is by amuse studio.
Please check out the rest of the Calendar Girls blogs!

A Bit Too Quiet

I misplaced my mojo.....yep, happens to all of us.... I admit to usually having it, but extra kids (sick ones) put a damper on my crafting last week.
I am trying to catch up on my

So, here is 24, 25 and 26

This follows the deconstructed sketch #86, using a Puddle Jumper from Lori Boyd. Photo inspiration came from The Pink Elephant: TPE183

This follows #243 at Sketch Saturday. Image is from Mo Manning (as is the next one). Both cards were made for a swap endorsed by the one and only Mo and hosted by my friend Paola!

I am sure you are going to ask how I got from that picture to this card....

It was great that Cardmadfairy gifted me these adorable images to show off this week! Be sure to stop by and check out the Digis there.

Number 23

22, but who is counting?

Tomorrow, my friend Ben turns SIX! He is a huge Ninjago fan, so I made him this card to go along with the donuts I am baking up for him!
Here is the card mostly closed:

And, opened:

I based it on a card i saw on Pinterest. That style wasn't big enough, so I used a double z fold and used two pie e's of card stock in order to get it the size I wanted.

Let e know what you think....

A Wee Bit Late

It really isn't as if I haven't been crafting, I am! Today I caught ack up by making a set of eight cards and a matching gift tote for them!
I ave been stumped by this dp (Tami would call it my Grandma Paper) and after seeing a card Pansy made, decided to use it in the following way:

The dp is from Stamping Up! And th sentiment from Amuse Studio. The buckle is very old CTMH.
I know I made nine items, but am counting them as two! Therefore, back current! Yippee!

Up to date

Yep, I have finally hit Number 18 in my quest for

Here is 17:

This card follows Tuesday Morning Sketch #181 ~ I hope they count my jute as ribbon so that I have their twist covered! And, speaking of twists, this is apropos for Twisted Tuesday Challenge 2TC40. They wanted to see off stamping (barely, but it happened) and something crumpled.

And here is 18:

This follows the sketch at Mojo Monday ~ Mojo276.

What's for Supper?

Today we can reveal a card for a mystery swap of sorts. Everyone receives the same immie and makes their cards, returns to the hostess and it starts again...
Jeanette picked a great image this time around and I tried a new to me fold which Judy enabled me to try (okay, she showed it off and I had to try it)!

It was definitely a fun card to make!

Book Blitz Month

Yep, you know it.....it's time to get my DUEL on!
Our theme this month, as alluded to in my title, is reading! I love to read....have since I was a young'en! In fact, I read just about anything I can get my hands on. Growing up, I lived five houses away from the only remaining one room school house in our county. My parents were part of the historical society preserving it and I had access to the key. What wonderful books I found to read in that library!

My son and I are currently reading "Eye of the Crow" by Shane Peacock ~ the rot agonist is a young Sherlock Holmes! I don't really have a favorite book (probably whatever is in my hands at the moment), but for an easy read I do enjoy Janet Evanovich and her number series of mysteries.

Terry, our hostess, sent:
Image: "Well Read" from MFT
Paper: Study All by Basic Grey, solid brown from DCWV, and Frigid from Fancy Pants
Accessories: CTMF baker's twine, Lone Star's buttons, Nailheads by Mark Richards, and ribbon from her stash.

Please check out the rest of the duel....the love luv too!!

12 and 13

The ick has invaded our house; and I haven't been feeling up to par these last couple of days. I finally felt like creating....a couple Blog responsibilities and a couple simple cards to catch me up on my 100 day challenge!

You will have to wait until later in the week to see a couple things, but here are cards 12 and 13 for your viewing pleasure!

I found the flower stamp in my pile of gifted to me things and who doesn't have paper flowers just angling around?? The second card came about because I was looking for some DP, had pulled this out and changed my mind on using it. Instead of putting it back into my 'pile', I decided to use it. I added some blue ribbon to tie it onto a gift bag.
