Calendar Girls....

Hey blurfers....thanks for joining me today!

This card is for a monthly 'challenge' I am in....
Michelle was our hostess and she asked that we make a project without a colored image...anything goes, but no coloring..... This was harder than it sounded. In fact, my husband even asked if it were possible. LOL
I decided to paper piece my sentiment digi...and I apologize for not giving credit, but for the life of me I can't find it again.
I had another idea....And you can see it in the second picture. It is a smaller card and very similar. Truth be told, neither were my absolute favorite, but I do like how the larger card turned out....after it was tweaked. LOL

Gone Fishin'

Here's a card which I was commissioned to make.   It features an image by Mo Manning - you know, from Mo's Digital Pencil....

The papers and card stock were all from my stash and I stole the design from my dear friend Carol...

I must confess, the person who I sold this card too was asking for a male thinking of you type card.  The male is going thru chemo and she wanted a few nice cards to send him.  I always try to get a feel of the recipient and was told that he enjoys fishing....  It nearly made the woman cry....so very glad she liked it!

I CAN'T believe it!

What can't I believe?  That I missed LOLLIPOP Day!  I am sure it was intended to make everyone aware of the sugary lollipops, but....
Yep, I want to talk about those great little images by LORi
Grab A Banner

The one showcased on my card is Lollipop Dylan!!  Isn't he handsome - reminds me of my son (especially with the tunes playing)!  My picture is over exposed - sorry about that, but once in a bit it happens!

LORi's immies are so fun to color - that is one great reason to like her work!  And, the are so versatile - love when one purchase can have multiple uses!

And, I must tell you - all papers used in this card were from my scrap file....and the dots were last ones too....love that!

Thanks for stopping by!

Garden of Friendship

Well, it is the 15th and that can only mean one thing - the Duel is on!
Terry was the the hostess for the Dazzlers and she sent a great kit:
Image and Sentiment is  Fred Bear "Oopsie Daisies" by MFT
DP by Me &My Big Ideas and DCWV
Felt Flowers and Buttons from JoAnn's
Ribbon and a doily from Michael's

I have to admit that I used a bit of everything....except, the doily.  I just couldn't find a way to make it work in my layout.  So, I am saving it and the other embellies from my kit for another project or two!  I will say that I added the dark purple card stock and the green tape in the center of the felt flower.

We were asked to tell a story or memory of a good friend.  Well, I have many stories....and never fail to tell them...  But, to pick just one...Well, since it is summer I will tell you a relating story.

I grew up on the South end of Skaneateles Lake.  It is one of the clearest fresh water lakes and it is cold!!  Not just cold, but frigid!!  But, the best part of living there was that I had unlimited access to swimming since my family had a cottage lakeside!  Not only did my family have a cottage, but so did many of my friends.  Some of my favorite childhood memories are of the the carefree days spent riding my bike, going for hikes (and bringing home flowers for my mom) and swimming in Skaneateles Lake.  Here is a bit of inspiration, taken my my friend Stephen~

Thanks for stopping by - check out what the rest of the Duelers came up with using their kits for the month! Remember to stop and leave love all around!!

Berry Special

Today's card features the freebie of the week from Delightful Inspiration.  I also used the Strawberry image for their designers' challenge of European Inspiration.

I have barely ever left the state of New York, so what do I know about Europe??
But, I thought long and hard about it and thought of French inspired wallpaper - you know, where a design is copied over and over again....  So, I printed the strawberry image in black on white numerous times to make a background of sorts.  I then enlarged the immie to color up (with my Bic's) and added a left over piece of lace (says French to me).

It's Monday...

and I have been Deconstructed!

Do y'all follow along with Jen and her sketch challenges?  She has a new one every Thursday!  They are tons of fun and I love to follow along....kadie got me hooked on these too....lol

So, here is my try at the sketch this week.  I didn't have my EK, so got to craft a bit last week and be timely on some of the neat challenges out there....lol

The paper is all scraps from my stash, and the image is  Puddle Jumper Ella, which I picked up at Claudia and Co. ( Ella is colored with my Bic's.)

Thanks for stopping by today!  Y'all try to stay cool in this heat wave - drink lots of water, no matter what!

Delighted to be here....

I try so hard to keep up with blogging during the summer and this year seems especially hard.  We have been camping...and have I mentioned that my son, Kyle, plays baseball???  Yep, 4 nights a week...phew, I am tired of traveling about....

Faith at Designed to Delight gives away a freebie digital stamp every Friday, if you play along with her weekly....I have been remiss and haven't found time to craft many of her awesome designs this summer, but here is her latest.  I even made it into a gift bag to fall in with the Saturday designer's challenge.

I printed the image three times - white, green floral and sand designer papers.  Fussy cut the parts I wanted and used some water dp to finish it off.  I made the bag using a tutorial from Our Daily Bread on how to make an envelope into a gift bag!  How cool!!
