On the farm...part two

Just wanted to share with you my other 'farm' card.  This is a digi from Whimsie Doodles that I have had for a while and hunted up for this swap.  I just love her - how about ewe??  (Marlene, you should be proud of that one!)

The card base is textured white, the background is SU, the digi and sentiment are Whimsie Doodles and the embellies are a generic clip and pearls...

Thanks for stopping by for my uber-fast post!

Take Two Tuesday

This might be the first time I have started with the card, rather than making you read my ramblings....

This card is for a swap on SCS called Down on the Farm.   The card could be for any occasion as long as it has something to do with a 'farm'.

This swap was great fun; and I actually have another card for it that I need to finish up....maybe I will make three posts on this fine Tuesday....lol

Have a great evening!

April

DeeDee's Challenge

DeeDee's Digis offered up a free digi today to go with their newest challenge. While you don't need ot use the free digi (just one of DeeDee's) I thought they went together too well to not use them.

This was a fun challenge and I actually have the perfect recipient (but, I can't say who, just in case they are reading today).  I used my Bic MarkIt's to color in the image.  Framed the sentiment with a Nestie, and added one little piece of bling to the flip flop!  As you already guessed, all papers are from my scrap file.

Thanks for checking in today and I'll see everyone back on Tasty Tuesday!

Ho's Challenge....the Crafty Ho's, that is.....

Sunday means another round of challenges starting up....and I decided to make a card for the Crafty Ho's Challenge that popped up this morning.  Well, a new one is up every Sunday there, but my mojo has been missing and I am now getting back in the swing of things!!

So, without further ado.......here is my card!

I kept this one pretty simple.  The stamp set is "Daydream" from Close To My Heart.  I stamped with Momento Rich Cocoa and CTMH Outdoor Denim.  The umbrella is colored with Autumn Terracotta and Twilight with a blender pen.  The paper/card stock was all from my scrap file.  I freehanded cutting around the sentiment to make it look like a cloud....a little terracotta around the edges and popping it up with dimensionals gives it a more realistic look.

Thanks for checking in!

Saturday....

Okay, the month is almost over and that means that Designed2Delight has sent me my last freebie of the month.  It's progressived remember, so at the beginning of the month, use the freebie and you get another.  It is a great way to earn great digis.  You can check the blog to see what I am talking about.

This was colored with Copics and gel pens....I used all scraps for the papers/cardstocks....and the circle clip was in my embelly holder and have no clue where it came from. And, the sentiment is hand written ~ believe it or not, I couldn't find a stamp I wanted to use; or print out....lol (Laziness at its best!)

I also made a card for the Bugaboo Hop and Challenge.  This challenge was to depict love.  Not a hard thing to do with BB's wonderful stamps....

I colored my sock monkey with Copics and Bic Mark-Its.  Paper was also from my scrap pile and the ribbon is a generic blue... Sentiment is from Close to My Heart.

Thanks for stopping in tonight!

TUC Challenges

So, I am a member of the Tangled Up in Creativity blog group....did y'all know that?  I bet most of you did!  LOL  We are two groups combined and right now, have two challenges going on....

One is to use red, white and/or  blue and the other is to make our own designer paper.  I have been strapped for time this week or so and decided to combine the two challenges into one great big card.  You can see the challenges here and here.

Well, I seemed to forget a couple important things....lol
The gorgeous digi is from Stamping Boutique - colored with Bic's and Copics, the sentiment is from Close To My Heart, and I stamped the 'designer' background with a mini * from a dollar set and the large star is from Laundry Line from My Mind's Eye.

Happy Hump Day

So, it is Wednesday!!

I have been so busy trying to find a new ride, that I have been neglecting my dear blog....  But, here I am with a cute little card.

This image and sentiment are from Designed 2 Delight.  The little birdie is colored with my Copics - all other inks are from Close To My Heart.  And you all know that all of the other supplies are out of my stash o' scraps.

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Father's Day!

Life took over this past week, and I didn't get everything accomplished that I hoped to...lol

But, this morning I finished off the cards that I started three days ago.  I told you that life interfered.

So, without further ado (since I need to shower, go look at a new vehicle and get my kid to his Auntie's and DH and myself to a wedding)....here are my cards to celebrate Father's Day.

I must say, my son picked out the image for his card.  It is from Little Musings.  He thought this was perfect for a card for his DAD (I must say that I agree!).  I wanted to add a little "more" to it, but he said we need to keep it simple.
My card for DH uses a digi from Bugaboo Stamps.  I think my DH is cool, no matter what he thinks....lol....
Both cards were made with only scraps on hand.  And both were colored with Copics.  Anything else you might want to know, ask....I might know ;-)

Have a great weekend and celebrate Fathers everywhere!!

A Typical Monday?

My head was aching.

The kid almost missed the bus - we were gabbing and not paying any attention to the time....

The EK was late....that is the "Extra Kid", as in Eric, the one I watch while his mama and daddy work.

The mama was in a tizzy, so I (of course) asked what was wrong....ends up she was stressing about having not made dessert for a co-worker's dinner.  Said co-worker is having a tough time because her son was in a major car accident and still is in the hospital.  My friend and the rest of her co-workers in this class decided to make dinner for their friend, but mama pulled a double yesterday and didn't get a chance to get dessert done.  I whipped up a batch of triple chocolate brownies and will take them up to the school in just a bit...

While they were baking, I decided that a card to go along with dinner would probably be appreciated too.  SO, I whipped one of those up too...

The image is from Designed2Delight and the sentiment is from Stampin' Up.  Ink by CTMH and paper was a giftie from my friend Sheena as a prize from one of her swaps.  The ribbon was from the Dollar Tree, the metal dot from Wal-Mart and of course, I colored with my Copics.

Sorry, no picture of the brownies....LOL

Thanks for looking, I'm sure prayers would be appreciated for this family....

Time Flies....

I used to think that summer would never end when I was a child....  I loved school and as much as I loved being home; I really LOVED school!!  I know where my son gets this from....he has only four more full days of school and then four half days.....AND, he is bummed about this.  Don't get me wrong, he loves Mommy and Daddy dearly, but within 3 days it will be "I'm boooorrrreeeddd."  And that is okay, because we are gearing up for birthday season....  Seems like they come in spurts.  Not sure which of his friends will be getting this card, but one will (last year we had 6 weekends in a row of parties ~ and one was twins)!

I used my latest digi from Designed2Delight in their progressive freebies...  Have you joined in the fun yet?  I colored this mouse with COPICS ~E33, YR02, Y11, YR00, C2, C4, YG63 and G26.  (Look, I wrote them down tonight).  The DP and CS are all out of my scrap pile; as is the ribbon!  The sentiment is from Stampin' Up and so it the frame around it.

Thanks for taking a look!
See ya Monday~

To Try Out or Not??

Well, today is the day....I am half way there.

I made a couple projects for Sassy Studio Designs....They have a design team call out that ends tomorrow at midnight (go ahead, say I am waiting til the last minute to decide).

There were giving away a freebie for the called Prom Cameo.  You can see it below left.  She is colored with Copics and a bit of glitter gel pen.  I adhered her to a metal cap from a juice can and made a pin for a friend that was working hard to make her kids' prom terrific!!  To the right is Sassy Cassy ready to be sent to my BFF for her birthday!  She is also colored with Copics (my next task is to actually keep track of which ones I use, so I can tell you ALL about them).  A couple different shades of teal and a cute little patterend paper finish off the card!

I also used Shaken Not Stirred in this card.  I plan on keeping it for my anniversary, which is in August!!  The image is colored with (you guessed it) Copics.  The shaker with Cool Grey 2 and highlighted with my Silver Starburst glitter pen.  The drink is colored with Cool Shadow and then the whole glass was covered with Crystal Effects; which didn't show up as well as I hoped.  The sentiment was computer generated and then I inked over it with CTMH Vineyard Berry using a piece of bubble like foam.  Two silver dots top the card and a piece of grey ribbon ties everything together...hehehe

I really enjoy the images from Lindsay at Sassy Studio Designs.  While I don't think I always do them justice, I like the challenge they present!  Isn't that why we all try our hands at new things??

Thanks for joining me tonight~
Have a great weekend!!

Monochromatic Challenge

I am in a wonderful blog group that goes by the name of "Tangled up in Creativity".

This week, Christy at Lone Pine Designs asked us to make a card using only one color - with no neutrals/whites or blacks!

Truly, this wasn't as easy as I imagined it would be~
But, here is my submission.

All blues ~ the dp and cs are all out of my scrap pile.  The sentiment was stamped with CTMH denim in their Hodgepodge Alphabet set.  The image is from Little Musings.  He is called Curtis and was a freebie a couple weeks ago.  This was my first chance to use him!!  I tinted the image a light blue so that he too was in my blue family.  (I forgot to mention that I cut some of the waves apart to give it a bit more interest.)
It was my intention to make the card look like a beach scene; I hope it came through that way ;-)

Thanks for stopping by!

Read a good book lately?

There is a new book out that I have just been dying to read.  The only problem is that my husband won't let me buy it.  WHY NOT?? Well, he is sure that his sister will shell out the 20 bucks and I won't need to.

I put a bug in her ear and I am sure that by the weekend I will have the once read book.

So, in hopes that I get the book, I made a new book mark!

I used the first freebie of the month from Designed2Delight.  This is a progressive freebie - use it and post it and you will get the freebie for the next week.  Kool, or what??  I colored it with Copics and used cs and dp from CTMH.  The button was a giftie from my SCS bud, Sheena and it is tied on with some DMC floss.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you give Designed2Delight a look-see and even take part.  {{If you don't blog, you can still play by linking it to an uploaded gallery.}}

Finally...

Hi everyone!!

I am so proud of myself - I finished a set of cards for my Sisterhood Swap.  It has seemed to take me forever - and I truly wasn't procrastinating this time.

Paola was the hostess this month and she didn't want us to make wedding cards, per se, but to use something "old", "new", "lacey" and "blue".  I hope my Sistahs like my rendition of this ;-)

The image is from Two for Tuesday and is colored with Copics; the lace is new (two points for that) and the card stock is Stampin' Up.  The polka dot paper came out of my scrap pile.  And, the button is old - bought an entire box of vintage buttons at an estate sale a couple weeks ago!!

My mojo has returned....

Well, I had mojo last week too, but spent it all on a baby album....I do have a call out to the lucky recipient to see if I can't take a few pictures of it....lol

So, over the weekend it was my friend's birthday.  I happen to watch her child on a daily basis and have many photo opportunities.  So, yep, you guessed it.  I made her something.  LOL

I used Picasa to make a collage, which I tweaked and then added just a few little embellies.  This will go in the 12x12 frame that I gave her when Eric was first born.

The paper is Close to My Heart (dp and cs) and so is the ink.  The star stamp is from The Greeting Farm.  I did a bit of fussy trimming to make the title because I was too lazy to get out the Cricut (should have just gotten it out...lol).

Thanks for checking in....hope you are having a great day!!!

Seriously?

Yep, it is Sunday already.  Not sure where that past week has gone, but here I am....
Actually, I know where it went - I was a procrastinator and had a present to make and (once again) waited until the last minute to do it!

Needless to say, there are no pictures of the baby album I made (well, there is the one below), but I did make a cute card to go with it....
See it up there?  Cute, or what??

So, I had a great week making an album that I took no pictures of....that is what procrastinating does to a person.

I hope to get back on track this coming week with my crafting.
Maybe you will join me?

April

Ten to Tango....

I am sure some of you are aware that I have jumped into blogging with both feet.  And, I did it for a few reasons....
1.  I'd like to try out for a Design Team.  {Yep, still hemming and hawing over that!}
2.  To make friends and enable others. {Doing that!!}
3.  For the FUN of it! {Ding that one too!!}

Well, this post hits on two of those three reasons....Numbers 2 and 3, if you didn't figure that out....LOL

Over at SCS, Jenn asked if I'd be interested in a blog group....Sure, I say!  So here is my card for our first Ten to Tango Challenge

This card will be going to a local hospice, Aurora House.  They just opened their doors about a month ago and I have heard many wonderful things about them!  I wanted my card to be an uplifing one.  I used pink to represent the fight against cancer.  My image is a digi from Pink Petticoat and is coloed mostly with Copics - the pink flowers use Bic Mark-Its.  The pink glitter paper is from Colorbok, the pink CS is Stampin' Up and the DP is the current freebie from D.A.I.S.I.E.  I'd never tried printing paper, but thought that a 4 by 6 piece wouldn't take too much ink!  It was fun and I had hardly any waste (the other half will be used, no doubt).

I hope you have enjoyed today's project and might even join in on our challenge!

The final leg...

of the blog relay over at Sassy Studio Designs.  This image is the Sassy Hatter and I must say: "She is so adorable"!!!!

I didn't get into all the hype of Alice in Wonderland, not even sure I liked the original when I was younger?  BUT, I love this little sassy one!!  I think I will send this one to my neice and see if she wants to come over for a spot of tea!!

Thanks for dropping in this afternoon!
Hope to be back later (in all actuality, I probably wont make it until tomorrow) with a card for Sew Many Challenges and their latest hop/challenge.

April

Bewitched

This morning, I have a card for you featuring another design from Sassy Studio Designs.  This is the third image from their Anniversary Relay.  It has been tons of fun!

This tag features "Bewitched" and is a sexy halloween witch!  I am going to add this tag to my collection and use it on a present for my husband.  Think I will add "Sorry I've been such a witch" when the time comes....LOL

She's colored with my Bic Mark-Its and everything else came out of my scrap pile, which is slowly dwindling....I don't think it will ever go away completely!!
