What a Challenging Day!

Yeppers, two different challenges and space mojo for one card!

My Crafters of Faith (COF) group ad this challenge thrown down by Tami!!
She said:
I have a crafting tool that I just had to have and have hardly used. Does that sound remotely familiar?! I think you all may have the same tool in your arsenal. I would like you to drag out your scoring tool. Scor-Pal mini, biggie, Martha mini, biggie or if you do not have one of those, I am sure that you may have a scoring blade on your paper cutter. SCORE!!! It would be fun to see how you all incorporate scoring onto your card. You know I am into 'use what'cha got', so if you do not have a scoring tool of any sort, please create without this element. Oh and I do not mean just a score to fold your cardbase in half! LOL

While it is a 'lovely' month February, let's create a card that is not Valentine's themed. That being said, it is the second part of this challenge. Let's not use Valentine theme, red, pink or white colors anywhere on our cards. That includes the paper you stamp your image on....*gasp*!

For our third element, how about we place both an image and a sentiment on the front of the card.

Well, that ought to keep us busy {now what am I going to do?! LOL} I am looking forward to seeing your projects. I get the best ideas from you girls.

And, the Calendar Girls also have a challenge due today thrown down by Kelly. She said:
*~* Share the LOVE! *~*

It’s February, the month of LOVE ♥ I’m thrilled to be your hostess this month and offer you a challenge of a different sort Rather than go for the traditional Valentine’s card, I wanted to ask that you each make a card – as a reflection of yourself – and share a little LOVE!

This month, please create a card (or project) that shows what YOU love … something that when we look upon your card, we will know exactly what that ONE thing is that you love so much!
(For example, maybe sporty LJ will have something on with the Badgers on her card (just sayin’!) or Darlene may have gorgeous feathered friends gracing the front of hers … you get the idea! )

*You may use any colors you would like but extra brownie points for using non - traditional colors!!
* Please include one thing only – I know it’s hard {However, if it's fruit, for example, you may include a basket of it rather than just one fruit}

YOUR BONUS CHALLENGE: As a extra bonus, but completely optional part of the challenge, I would LOVE for you to send your card to a place/organization that you LOVE. ♥ Share the LOVE ♥ this month by sending your card to someone in need – OWH, children’s charities, RMH .. the possibilities are endless. Know that somewhere out there, your generous mailing of your card could bring a smile to someone in need

Have fun creating and crafting and I so look forward to sharing the LOVE with you this month! ♥

*Blessings!*

Still with me? Phew! And all you were looking for is a picture of my card....
Well, here you go:

Happy Birthday!!

One of my besties, Kadie, is having a birthday today!! Y'all should stop by her blog and check out her stunning coloring! One day, when I grow up, I will have the patience to color that well!

Not only am I excited for her, but I am excited to have remembered!!

In her honor I created this easel card to celebrate her special day.

I used the current Mojo Monday sketch(#281), a mix of stamps ~ image by LORi Designs, sentiments from amuse, and the flourish from SU!. I added ribbon that was a giftie from Edith, some twine (from my garage, lmbo), and brads, gems and a pin out of my stash!

Nothing new on this card, is it is number 50 of my

Because "He" Said I Couldn't....

"He" being my dear husband. I actually needed to to go Michael's (no, really I did!) to pick up some items for an upcoming shoebox swap!! Woot Woot! My first!

Back to my story....my husband 'let' me go shopping, but on the condition that I make a card using items he bought....

UGH!

Thank goodness he didn't pay full price! He bought some Jolee's bling - Multi-color Crown and a piece of double sided Recollections Natural Animal card stock.

Not sure if you know this about me, but I dislike stickers and I am not the zebra print kind of girl!

So, here it is:

I am counting this as part of my

He bought it after all.... I never would! This makes number 48!

Also, it follows the deconstructed sketch #89.

DDD

Nope, the 'girls' haven't gotten larger.... It is time for the monthly duel between the Dazzlers and the Divas!

Paola and Judy were our hostesses this month and here is what Paola said about the kit:
♥ IT’S ALL ABOUT LOVE! ♥
Hello girls,
It's February and your Dueling Darling hostess’s -Paola for the Dazzlers and Judy for the Divas- have chosen this theme of love based on the Bible verses from Corinthians 13: 4, 7, 13
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud…It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres…And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” (New International Version)

There is so much about love to celebrate in February, besides the forever traditional day of love, Valentine’s Day on Feb. 14th.
Some celebrations that take place this month ,and that may inspire you as you create your card for the upcoming duel, are:
American Heart Month
International Friend Month
Random Acts of Kindness Week (10th – 16th in 2013)
Brotherhood/Sisterhood Week (17th – 23rd in 2013)
Send a Card to a Friend Day (Feb. 7th)
Love Your Pet Day (Feb. 21st)
Family Day (Feb 18, 2013 in Canada)

With this theme in mind we would like you to sow the seeds of love and kindness you have received in your life. You are challenged to pay it forward by performing a kind gesture and doing it anonymously! The week of the 10th – 16th may be the perfect opportunity for you to do this.

In your kit this month you should received:
Designer Papers from My Mind’s Eye (Love Me) : 'Hearts'
Pinecone Press (Be Mine) : 'Smoochie' and 'Checkmate'
Ribbon from Recollections (Michaels): red glitter; pink glitter; red and white satin
Divine Twine: pink, white and red twine floss
Heart Wood Clip: ' Celebrate It' (Michaels)
Pink bling hearts baubles (Michaels)
Prima flowers -from my stash-
Various heart brads -from my stash-
1/2" Epoxy Brads 'Sending Love' from SU
Buttons - from my stash-
Stamped images and sentiments, all from SU! : 'Summer by the Sea' ; Circle sentiment : 'Riveting'

So, without further ado, here is my masterpiece.....

I have paid it forward this week, just can't share that with you so that it can stay anonymous! I have been trying to pay it forward more regularly since the beginning of the year; let's hope I can keep doing my part!

Please check out the rest of the duel....the love luv too!!

My Favorite Things.....

I was up early blurfing and my friend Jeanette was so excited that I had to check out and play along with the current Craft Us Crazy Challenge (#37)!
It's all about FAVORITES!

I always ask my son (he is my favorite) what kind of Valentine's Day card he wants.....this year, he wanted me to make something I had never tried before, not caring what theme I stamped! So, I decided to go with his favorite colors, orange and black, and keep my card relatively simple with my stamping!

I love checking out the tutorials on SCS and found this one for the concertina card. I hope meets Kyle's expectations are met with this:

The stamps are from CTMH, I made the stars using a punch from Creative Memories and fussy cut the guitar. The sentiment is actually adhered to the card with an action wobble!

This is card 44 of my

Happy Hump Day!

I have made a ton of Valentine's Day cards...not sure where the extras are going, but I have had fun leading up to tomorrow....lol
I already showed off the one for my husband, BUT I have changed my mind.

I'm allowed!

I saw the sketch this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches (185) and knew exactly what I wanted to make...lol

I am counting (42) this in my

I will admit to the stamp set being new, but I am offsetting that by paper which is about 4, yes four, years old! The felt rose was a gift some time ago and I have hoarded the last couple....my DH is worth it though!

Two in One Day

I always love the sketch inspiration over at the deconstructed sketch. I rarely get a chance to play....dang life away from the craft desk!
I colored up this immie for a different deconstructed sketch (it didn't work then, lol), but I decided it works for this sketch (#88) quite well. I am still on my hundred day challenge ~ this is number 37 (I am still one behind). My scraps are all from Everyday Ecletic...not sure where my sparkly brads originated...lol

I got lost?
Nope, I had to catch up on housework....NOT my favorite thing to do...lol
(Is it anyone's?)

Today I have a card following sketch 184 from Tuesday Morning Sketches and played along at Riley and Company ~ using non-traditional colors for Valentine's Day. There is a touch of red....hope it doesn't disqualify me since my primary palette is turquoise.
