The Calendar Girls

OH MY!

Debbie was our hostess this month and she threw a hum dinger at me....to make a card with sewing on it...YIKES!

So, I am hoping this works for her.  There is sewing embossing, stitching, stamping of sewing, AND a sew sentiment (just not the one intended on the front, but the inside does say that "I am SEW glad we are friends!".

The stamp is from Bugaboo, the sentiments are computer generated, the tag and button from Piggy Tales and the bling was from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by!  Check out the rest of the Calendar Girls - the links are to the right!!

WOOHOO

I am so excited!  Not too long ago, Riley and Company had a blog hop and I was lucky enough to win a new stamp!  I chose Hunter Riley and set out to make a birthday card for my brother!

Isn't Riley the cutest? I chose to make a center step card using scraps. I based my card stocks on the bit of dp I had.... I also stamped Riley on brown and just colored up his clothes and gun... I will tell you the truth and admit that I colored about six Rileys and hated them all.....so, this was the way for me to go!

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Son~day!

It was a glorious day!  The sun shone, the trees sang with a gentle breeze, I had crafting time.... what could be better?

I am in a swap over at SCS hosted my Barb; it's caffeine related....lol....who doesn't like their daily shot of caffeine?  I chose to use a digi from Sweet n Sassy Stamps called Cocoa's Latte!  I do love my Bux; and thought this was the perfect stamp to use for this swap!  I kept my colors to green and brown...basic Bux colors!  And I used Sketch 15 (DS15)  from deconstucting jen.  I have been trying to sign up for fewer swaps so thatI can play in more challenges....glad I could combine the two with this card!

The cardstock is SU! and the dp's are from CTMH, as is the brad.  There is also a piece of hemp on the tag and green embroidery floss for the embellie!

Thanks for stopping by today!

A Pixie Saturday

Last week, my friend Kelly talked about a new book club.  Being the voracious reader that I am, I decided to check it out.

Pixie's Bookshelf, the new blog which celebrates this book club, made August its debut with the book Wings by Aprilynne Pike.  I will be the first to tell you that this book isn't in my 'normal' genre, BUT, it was a fun quick read that I enjoyed while camping!

After reading the book, we were asked to craft a card based on the book.  While you are thinking pixies and wings, I took a different approach and crafted a card dealing more with the feelings of the book.  I took away that the main character,  Laurel, learns to celebrate her 'growth'.  I don't want to give away the book to those of you that might read it, so you should check it out to better understand my card!

Deets:  I used very little ink on this card (TGF is teaching me to be more creative with a Heart Journal) and all products are from Close To My Heart!

I hope that you all are having a great weekend.  If you have a chance, pick up this book and spend some 'you' time!!

Pulse it up in your blender and pour into tall glasses, using thick straws, slurp to your heart's content!!

Beach Fun

This week, the challenge over at Riley and Company is being hosted by my Sistah, Kelly.... I wanna craft like she does when I grow up!!  She has a beach theme going on this week....must be because she lives in Florida and that is part of her!

I used Bouncy Ball Riley and some paper that was gifted to me a bit ago.  The card stock was all on hand and the ribbon was pulled out of my bag o' scraps.  I 'made' my background with sand like dp and sponged a sky.  I hope I pulled off the red and blue part of the challenge.

Now that you have seen the card, you probably wonder how Riley fits in to my beach scene.  Not too long ago, we were camping and a family was all (yep, Mom and Dad too) playing soccer while on BOUNCY BALLS....not only did they have a lot of fun playing, but we had a ball (pun intended) watching!!

Thanks for stopping by!  You still have time to check out the challenge, so get going!!

CDAC Progressive Challenge

Are  you a member of CDAC?  Did you see that they recently started a progressive challenge?  If not, get over there!!

I used an image by Anne's Digital Art!  Isn't she a cutie?  I was looking for an image to color (shhh...for a swap by friend Lauren is hosting) and this cutie was perfect!  I used up some scrap paper and some flowers that have been in my bin forevah....gotta love not "buying" anything new!

Notice I even have a close up for y'all!!  The sentiment is SU! and that big glittery brad is CTMH!

Thanks for stopping by!  Make sure you check out this fun challenge!

Deconstructed Challenge

As you all know, my friend kadie had enabled me to the nth degree....thankfully, working on challenges isn't expensive (for the most part) and no special items were bought to make this card.  LOL

Here is have a gorgeous PI that was gifted to me and as soon as I received it, I had to ink it up!!  The sketch challenge this week at Deconstructing Jen worked great with this image....so voila, a card....in fact (shhhh) don't tell, but I am sending it to my Secret Sistah....

Are you ready from some football?

Well, football players are finally back to work and training camp has opened!! Isn't that great news??

My friend, kadie, sent me a wonderful kit last month....SORRY kadie for not posting my creation earlier...But, I think this is the perfect time to show off this card.

Thanks for stopping and stop over at Kadie's. She made a card using the exact elements - see it HERE
