It's that time of the month....again....

Nope....not what you might be thinking.  BUT, it is time for my monthly Calendar Girl post!!

This month, Carol was our hostess!  Here is what she offered up:
The month of June brings many, many things...it is the beginning of summer for most areas...it is associated with weddings, graduations, picnics, swimming, VACATIONS...a whole bunch of wonderful things...so my task for you should you chose to accept, is this:

1. Make a card or a 3D item or whatever you would like and base it around something that you enjoy doing or plan on doing this summer...ex: a vacation, camping, family picnic, swimming, family reunion....you get the idea...
So, above is my card! A simple card, but it really conveys my summer...lol
2. Write a short ditty about why you like or are looking forward to the theme you have on your card, when you post...
I love summer and what says summer better than a cold drink in hand....the tropical umbrella is always a bonus!  Not sure I will actually get to a real beach this summer, but love this House Mouse image that one of the gang gifted me a while back.
3. (This part is optional)...
Now since here in the US Memorial day is at the end of May and the 4th of July is at the beginning of July and June is smack dab in the middle of two holidays that honor our nations heros....I would like for you to send your card to either a soldier or a resident in a nursing home...(Sweet P I know you don't live in the states but I do know you love and honor the elderly and your nations heros as well)...I think that there are so many people that have shaped our lives and have stood up to protect us all... often these people are forgotten....so if you choose to take the 3rd part of this challenge (Optional of course)...you will certainly put a smile on someones face that will certainly appreciate it...

The Calendar Girls are all listed on my sidebar {make sure you stop and spread your love}...

For kadie!!

kadie is a big enabler....lol

She makes amazing (AND I MEAN AMAZING) cards and sucks you in so that you fall in love with new rubbah!!  HAHA  My latest infatuation is a line called Puddle Jumpers.....you can find them here.  A few weeks back, could have been days, for all I remember, I was lucky enough to get a little prezzie from kadie ~ a card kit ~ and a bit of an extra, her most favorite PJ of all time, LUCAS.

Like I was saying, kadie has amazing talent and one of her designs teams puts out a new sketch every Thursday.  This very morning, I was happily surprised to see a HoP going on too!  This card is my submission!  WOOT, WOOT ~ not sure where I found the time today, but I am loving that I did!

The dp are from piggy tails, the Jack and Jill Collection; the sentiment is computer generated, and the immie was colored up with my Copics!!  I have shown you a couple different views....nothing I tried got me the perfect picture today!

We are off to go camping for the weekend!  Taking a friend for Kyle - wish me luck ~ he's never camped before!

Thanks for stopping by!

We are Ready to Rumble...

In a friendly way of course!

It is time again for our duel....Michelle was the hostess with the mostess this month and we are going out into the Great Outdoors!

We were asked to tell a story.....hmmm....al of my camp outs have been memorable, but one that sticks out is a few years back when one of the guys was introducing us to his girlfriend. I say the guys b/c my hubby has had the same set of friends since they were in four grade. And, when I married Mike I was told that I wasn't marrying just him, but all five of them.... But, back to the story at hand. Our friend brought the girl of his dreams camping with us, and all she did was expect him to wait in her hand and foot which didn't sit well with many....the final day we were camping, it started to drizzle....she expected our friend to take down the screen house as Mike was washing dishes...under it!! I have the pictures in my scrapbook....strange, but true!!

Here is what she sent....
Image - Whippersnapper Roasting Mellos Bear, all stamped in Momento Tuxedo Black on Neenah Solar Crest white cardstock.
DP - Both are from the Imaginisce Happy Camper line.
Ribbon - American Crafts
Brad - Eyelet outlet
Buttons - October Afternoon Campfire
I added a piece of green cardstock and madethe base from a piece of kraft cs.

And here is my creation!  The pattern for this stand up card was recently showcased on SCS....had to give it a try!

Thanks for stopping and make sure to see what everyone else has created too!!  Here are links to both the Dazzlers and the Divas.

Delight-ful

Faith, over at Delightful Inspiration,  has done it again!  She has offered up at fabby digi for free.  Now, I missed the month of May (life was hectic), but many of you know I adore her work and that of the design team.  This image is called Spring Fence and is a wonder to color.  I used Bic's, put it on top of some Tim Holtz paper (that I never know how to use), added some ribbon and some embellies that were gifted to me!!

Sorry this is short, EK is still in da house and we are trying to get ready for another baseball outing....who wants to play baseball?  It's only 91 degrees (F) with a heat index of close to 100....did I mention the Air Quality Alert we are in too??  In fact, when I went out to take the picture, the lens steamed up and I had to wait....lol
