THE Reason for the Season

Did you hop today with the ladies who are celebrating The reason for this Lenten season....The hop starts with Heather and ends with Catherine.  In between there is so much talent showcasing their love of Jesus that you will be blown away!!

I hopped this morning before the needs of the house 'bothered' me and took Catherine's challenge to make my own card.  While it has been done most of the day and evening, I haven't had a chance to sit down and post it....lol....  And the whole reason I want it done before the new day breaks is that Lori is checking up on me...lol... Hope she stops by ;-)

While my card may not scream Easter to you, to me it has major components of the season.  The palm fronds, the regal purple depicting Him, the chalice surrounded by the wheat and grapes, and three little water pebbles to remind us of hte Holy Trinity.  Every time we take Communion, we are reminded of our Lord.  While it is in the forefront of the Christian mind this time of year, in must be thought of and reflected on throughout the whole year.

The dp is Palm Fronds by Frances Meyer; the image is First Holy Communion by Our Daily Bread Designs; the cs is out of my never ending supply and the immie was colored up with my Copics and highlighted with a bit of Smooch (the bottled kind, definitely not the spray kind...lol).

Here are two shots of the inside which continue the front's theme...

Thanks so much for stopping in,
Huggz,
April

Oh April, sweetie, this just pulled at my heartstrings and just gave me the warmest of fuzzies! How sweet of you to be inspired to create from the heart with the most amazing card to exemplify His ultimate love and sacrafice for each of us! This is just beautiful - from the hues of purple to the soft, subtle colors of your image and amazing sentiment/inside ... I think this is one of your finest cards ever. I just love this. My girls had their communions in the past years and this is something I would have dreamed in my head to commission for their forever scrapbooks! LOVE THIS, my friend. And you! Blessings to you, sweet April! xoxo
