Congratulations....

Our cousin has graduated from high school and his party will be this coming weekend.  Talk about not knowing what to get the boy? Or even what kind of card will be appreciated.  I could only find 'cute' when looking for something that said graduation....while he is 'cute', he probably wouldn't really appreciate a cute card....lol

So, I started looking through my sets of stamps (insert a long drawn out gasp here...I actually used ink and not a digi) and found something a bit more masculine.  I paired it with some manly CS and viola....his card.

I sure hope he likes it ;-)

Deets:
The dp is from SandyLion
Metal Dots were clearanced at WalMart
The stamp is from Letter Press Alpha by Hampton Arts (the whole set cost me a buck at BigLots)
Ink is Close To My Heart

Thanks for stopping by~

Marvelous Monday

I hope everyone is enjoying the first day of the week!

I have a bit of mojo back, so you get to see a new card today....lol

This card is fitting for the Crafty Ho's Challenge and the one at DeeDee's.

The Ho's this week asked for a black/white and any other color card, while DeeDee offered up a sketch challenge.  I hope you play along with these fun challenges!

Thanks for stopping by and HUGGZ,

It's been a super Sunday!

If you join me on a regular, or even semi-regular, basis, you know that I haven't felt like crafting because of the heat.  Well, the dry spell has been broken and yesterday I made two cards for a swap at SCS.  This swap is being hosted by Viv (blusky) and there must be a winged creature on the card.  I committed to one spot, but in my craftiness, created two.

And, you get the sneakie peekies at them.

Deets:
The fence is a digital image by GTC and called Floral Fantasy Fence.  I used Bic Mark-Its to color it in, trimmed between the fence posts and added a die cut, embossed butterfly that has a few rhinestones to embellish it.
On the second card, the owl is a digital image from TlcCreations.  He is also colored with my Bic's.  The sentiment is by Close To My Heart and the inside of the card reads "Sometimes age just shows up all on by itself."  I think the googly eyes really give Mr. Owl more personality!

Thanks for checking in today.  I have posts lined up for later in the week, so be sure to check back!!

Here I Am.....

It is very unlike me to not post something during the week, but the heat just zapped all of my crafting mojo this week.  It finally broke today with great thunder storms and flash flooding....  Thank goodness I live in a second floor apartment ;-)

My EK and his parents moved this past week, so I inked up a couple stamps from Close To My Heart.  I chose the colors because it happens to be those of their new living room.

Thanks for stopping by....I'll be back tomorrow with some new creations.  Da boyz are going to an air show, so I will have the place to myself and I can craft to my ♥'s delight!

Hotter than....

Just wanted to pop in and say HI!

The weather here in Western NY is sure curtailing my craftiness.  It's much too hot to stay in and craft...today I am off to my father-in-law's where there is central air...I'm even taking 'stuff' to work on!

In lieu of a card this morning, how about a couple photos??

These were taken at the Port of Rochester.  For those of you that don't have a clue, that is on the south side of Lake Ontario....

TUC Challenge

Well, the current challenge for The Tangled Up in Creativity blog group has been put out there.  Tammy has asked us to alter designer paper.

I have to tell you...I stink at this challenge, but being a team player, I tried!!

I used by dp for totally different cards... the first is depicting the innocence of summer.

And the second is the backdrop for my Halloween scene.

The card stock is all from the scrap file...the designer paper is from the Paper Studio and I originally bought it for a Forest Swap...lol...and, the bling was gifted to me (and I don't remeber the company name).

I am sure this isn't quite what Tammy had in mind, but I hope you all have enjoyed my take on this challenge.

Thirsty Thursday?

Yesterday, my family ran around with our heads off....in doing so, I forgot to take anything out of the freezer for supper....  In retrospect, we should have gone to McDonald's, Wendy's or Bill Grays....  I "made" a pasta salad from a kit.  Now normally, I loved this company's (which will remain nameless) products.  BUT, can you say salty?  I am still drinking water to rehydrate.

Now, you are probably wondering what that has to do with my blog??

Nothing.  Just needed a name for today's post and that was the first thing I thought of and I needed to tie it in somehow....

So, onto the card.

This month, The Sistahood of the Traveling Card is working on the theme "Christmas in July".  My SCS friend, Jeanette (aka Forest Ranger), has inspired me to look for craft things at the sales my husband and I have been going too.  I 'found' the ribbon on this card and spent a whole 25 cents on a huge, unopened spool of this and just knew that it was going to be my focal point of my card.  Also used was the Medallion stamp from Stampin Up and a sentiment from Close To My Heart.

Thanks for stopping in on this "Thirsty Thursday"!
