Touche

It's time to Duel it out!! Our theme this month is "Bring Out the Kid in You."  And, the challenge is to use something we'd find with toys....

Jeanette was out hostess this month and send a fabby-tabby kit!!
It included: Image by Me and My Big Ideas; Kelly & Annie
Sentiment by Hero Arts; Good Friends
DP by DCWV (teal), EK Success (Scrabble) and My Mind's
                       Eye (floral)
Embellies: Darice rhinestones, Gartner Brides Table Confetti
paper flowers (not used), It's in the Bag silk flower (not
used), SU! Blushing Bride Stiched Polyribbon (not used),
a flower brad from an unknown vendor, and the Scrabble
                       tiles.

Here is my card!  I decided that an easel card would be best to show off the elements I chose to use.  There were so many things in the kit that I already have another card in the works....

And, to tell you how I undertook the challenge.  The three little blossoms on the right of the sentiment were made using melted crayons.  It is one of the fun things I remember doing when I was young - melting crayons on the edge of the road.  Before y'all have a fit over that - I grew up in the middle of nowhere and it was so long ago that traffic was almost non-existent....LOL  I admit that I melted the crayons in the microwave for this, but same priciple!

One last picture to show that Atlas was enamored with my card.

Aw, look at Atlas! She is a good friend! :) Melted crayons - check you out!!! I did that, too - okay, I still do this today - there is one in front of the zoo that has my name all over it, even the stroller wheel from someone that ran it over ... my kids say "mommy, look!" every time we go there! (it WAS an accident, lol, I just didn't stop to pick it up and well, there you go!) You card is so full of fun and detail and love the easle card look to it so we can take it all in- one of your finest, April! x0x0

April, I loved how you placed the sentiment, and I love how you placed all the colors, but what did it for me, was the intensive stare of your kitty, studying how much work you put into the card.

What a fun card! Love the layout. I too melted crayons, but not so good. They were in my dad's lunchbox on our trip to Disneyland. Bet he had wished he flew us there! LOL
