Here is what I said:
"This month's challenge:
{In another thread, we were talking about what kind of challenges we like best and that is where I got this idea}
I want you to make a birthday card based on your date of birth.
I would love you to use two parts of your birthdate and use the corresponding color and sketch challenges available on the forums.
Clear as mud, right?? Use two parts of your birthdate and the corresponding challenge to make a birthday card!"
So I used SC08 for my sketch and for my colors the equivalents of Only Orange, Night of Navy and Certainly Celery. I will admit that I didn't even know about SU! and stamping until about four years ago (I held off because I didn't want to become addicted, yeah right...lol). So, the colors of my card are as close as I could come.
Without further ado....
Here is my card:
The card stocks are all scraps, the ribbon from a dollar bin somewhere (think BigBox) and the stamps are from a*muse studio. I did add a little glimmer (Dazzling Details from SU) which is hard to see.
Thanks for stopping by! Please leave love with the rest of the Calendar Girls!! Their links can be found on my sidebar!

Oh! OH! OH!!! I know those stamps! ;)
April, your challenge was such a fun one! At first, I was a bit intimidated - LOL! But then, once I had gone to check out the sketches (where I first looked), I embraced it and had a great time.
Your card is FABULOUS!!! I love he way you did the ribbon... and of course every detail is perfect. I would expect nothing less from an April creation. I'm soooooooo glad you got "addicted" and that we are fellow Calendar Girls!
very cute April! I love the glimmer on the sentiment pieces :)
Fabulous April and such a clever idea for a challenge!
I like that layout. I am glad that you hosted this month and gave us a challenge that I had never done! I now have a resource for sketches and colors!!! Who knew?! LOL
I really like how you sponged the panels. They look really good like that. Perfect stamp set to use.
Thanks, for sharing!
Yeah, what they said! My jaw hit the ground when I saw your challenge but that's what I love - a good challenge, one that makes me think outside the box and one I would not have normally done - so Kudos to you for thinking it up! Nice card - so bright and fun and festive! I'll be eating cake - TODAY! LOL!
Thank you for the birthday wishes - I'm blessed to have your GIFT of friendship! x0x0
April--as I said in my post, thanks so much for a challenge that truly was a challenge for me!
I really like the sketch you used and the way you added the ribbon is perfect.
Thanks for a fun month!
Great job on your card April and great "challenge" as well.. took some time to work it out but it was awesome..
I love how you did the ribbon treatment on your card and it is a fun layout...great job my friend...
That's a tough color combo but you did a great job of putting it altogether! Love the layout you chose too!
Thanks for challenging me to again step out of a comfort zone and use colors I don't normally use!!
Great job April, love it!! Thank you for being a Calendar Girl!
♥♥
Too fun, loving that sentiment and I am all for that, except what if I eat both pieces. Perfect card.
love your card with dual paneling ...not sure how I would have put your color choices together..U did a terrific job on youe card! Thanks for a really great challenge April...loved it! ♥
I totally love that sentiment - Ha, ha, ha!!! I agree - we should all get 2 pieces of cake. I remember when my daughter was going through a heavy stage in 6th grade and wanted to lose some weight. She had a piece of cake and I told her that she should just stick it on her butt because that is where it was going - she has never forgotten that. It is so true too! I know from experience. I am rambling - back to your creation - it is fab! Hugz.
Great challenge this month Miss March. Love your colors and layout. Great birthday card.
