Calendar Girls....

Good Morning!

It is the 28th and that can only mean one thing!  It is time for the Calendar girls to blog about our monthly theme!

Paola was our hostess and this is the part I went with....
~~* Hello wonderful Calendar Girls
well, sassy Miss September is finally ready to challenge YOU all....*wink*

I'd like this month to continue to be about choices,
therefore I would like YOU to pick your own challenge
by selecting ONE of the THREE choices provided below.

*choice one* MUSIC:
Select one of the three youtube songs I added below, and have your card reflecting part of the lyrics from your song of choice.
The possibilities are absolutely ENDLESS! )
I would also like YOU to gift your finished card to a close neighbour, or a friend that lives close to you that could use a 'pick me up'.

'September' by: Nat King Cole
September Song - Nat King Cole & George Shearing - YouTube

'September in the Rain' by: Dinah Washington
Dinah Washington - September In The Rain - YouTube

'Wake me up when September ends' by: Green Day
Green Day-Wake Me Up When September Ends lyrics - YouTube

I have to be honest and tell you that I didn't really know any of the songs, so checked them all out and Nat King Cole said that most to me!  He sang of leaves changing and how time is moving on.  I likes the jazzy-ness of the song and how it reminded me of a person being their own being!

With that said, here is my card....

Well, I wasn't totally sold on my card, so here is my second attempt....lol

Both have portions I like, but you may see me make another card/post sometime soon!  The first one definitely is the color palette I like, but The girl looks like she is doing a Madonna dance....lol  And, the latter card really is the wrong set of dp's.....guess I can't always be 100% behind my creations!

Check out the rest of the Calendar Girls....make sure to leave em some love!

Two cards! Oh my goodness. There are things I really like on each of them. So basically, you rocked the challenge x 2!

I had to laugh at the Madonna comment. Immediately, I thought of the phrase from Vouge "Whatta ya lookin' at....Vouge!" Strike a pose! ROFL!

Great job!

April, first let me say... I think you should go easier on yourself! Your first card is adorable! However, I am sort of glad you didn't much care for it, otherwise, we would have never seen your second card, which is great, too!

Love your take on Paola's challenge... Autumn is a great time of year and you have definitely put me in the mood with all those falling leaves.

Over-achiever!! Not one, but 2 great cards!! My preference? The top one with the brighter colors....she really looks like she is playing in the leaves!!

Great job April!!

Well...I don't see what you are talking about - I think that both cards are GREAT!! Love the colors on the first one, and really like how you totally changed the second one for an entirely different & pretty effect. Very nice indeed!

I think we are always more critical of our own work...both cards are lovely but I'm really drawn to the colour combo in the first one.

LOL! You are too funny! I think both are great in colors and layout.

It's always so fun to see what you do with these challenges, April. I think both cards are fantastic! Love the Fall tree and leaves on the first, and the fun layout and textures on the second.
