COF Hop

As many of you know, my mojo was lost....yep, it is true!  Reminds me of faith.  It is really always there, but not always in the forefront.  I recently joined this Crafters of Faith blog group.  I have been running on crafty-empty for a month or so and just like faith waning and waxing, I needed new inspiration.  This group of crafters isn't afraid to talk of faith, their experiences and how God helps them on a daily basis.

To God who gives our daily bread
A thankful song we raise,
And pray that he who sends us food
May fill our hearts with praise.
Thomas Tallis (1505-1585)

Welcome to the first Crafters of Faith Blog Hop! We are so blessed to have you stop by and celebrate the beauty of AUTUMN with us! The Crafters of Faith blogging group is a joyous blending of christian friends ~ joined together to fellowship, share our faith, build friendships and craft together! If you are just visiting and would like to hop with us, welcome! If you hopping along already, you should have arrived from Barb's blog.

This month, our hostess is Carol S! She gave us a wonderful Harvest challenge and here is what she asked us to create: "I love FALL, the colors and the smells! I would like to propose that we make a card with fall colors, it should include fruits and vegetables to remind us of the harvest. When my kids were small, I canned peaches and pears, made pickles and such. So much fun to open those jars in the dead of winter! I am looking so forward to the fall festival of Sukkoth (Feast of Tabernacles). To Biblical historians, this is the actual time of Christ's Birth and many people believe this will also be the season of HIS return. Blessings All!"

So, we are showing off our projects this month through a hop and here is the order.  I hope you can stop and visit each of these special ladies!

I admit to having no details, because everything was shopped from my scraps - the main immie is Studio g and the sentiment is Amuse.

From here, continuing hopping to Kelly's blog to see what Autumn splendor she has waiting for you! We also have a special little giveaway for one lucky hopper today and you can find that on Kelly's blog - the last stop on the hop!

Thank you for stopping by today! In this glorious season of Fall, and the wonders of the earth changing to gorgeous colors .... in a time of gratitude and thanksgiving ... we wish many blessings for you!

Calendar Girls......

It is the 28th and that can only mean I am posting as a Calendar Girl. Our hostess this moth, the lovely Sweet P had this to say:

Hello Calendar Girls,

To honour a dear longtime friend of mine who passed away early today, I would like to request that you create a beautiful card using the following guidelines:

Your card must be a fancy fold, and have apples stamped on it -and colored-
(OR, if you don't own any apples's stamps, apples can be incorporated on your cards via designer papers, stickers, dies etc..), plus have at least one 3-D butterfly on your card too.

The main colors used for this challenge are to be your own favourite colors (use at least two of them please, and tell us which ones they are once you blog it.)

Why the apples/butterflies combos you may ask?

My friend used to bring me tons and tons of beautiful apples from her garden at about this time of the year as the fall season just starts to appear, and today, at the hospice, she was covered in a gorgeous handmade blanket full of beautiful colorful butterflies as we said our final goodbye....A bigger 3-D all white sequined butterfly was placed on top of her heart too...♥

Please note: Your cards are NOT to be sympathy cards at all, please keep them ‘happy/festive’ - as a celebration of LIFE in general! ♥

♥ Hug a friend today...life's way too short!

Thank you and God Bless to all! ♥

Paola / Miss September

So, I didn't have an apple stamp, so used some cool dp, and a new butterfly that I adore. I must admit that fancy fold didn't happen..... Yep, I couldn't follow simple directions. BUT, my interior might redeem me with its fancy folds.
I used red and green because this time of year they are my favorites! I think it is because to me they represent the start and finish of the season.

And, not to leave you hanging, here is the interior of the card!

Please, stop by the rest of the Calendar Girls blogs! They love luv!! Their links can be found on my sidebar!

As Simple As Can Be!

Before I get to my crafty-ness, a bit of background: We were having quality family time tonight....yep, watching Emergency! on NetFlix when I realized it was time for my son to go to bed. He wasn't happy about that and asked to read a bit in bed before lights out. Yep, I am a pushover and let him.
But, he had a dilemma....no bookmark!

So, since I was allowing him to stay up twenty more minutes, I decided to rectify his situation!

This was easy peasy. And, since he was worried about wrecking it, I kept it über simple.

Baseball Luka was colored with my Bic's put in front of some hoarded SU! Dp and black card stock and them laminated. A bit of orange ribbon, some slate twine from The Twinery and a baseball charm finished it off!

I feel as if I am finally getting back into the swing of crafting, so here's to seeing more of you!

got PORK?

I am playing catch up!  No, no ketchup...that doesn't go well with pork at all!

This was a mystery immie swap - we all get the same image, and no one tells what they have made until the day they are due!  I was late posting my picture - it was due the 18th - my apologies to the girls in the swap...

BUT, tada....I did find my picture finally!!

Happy Son-day

I have been so remiss here in blog-land. But, I completed a big project and feel my mojo returning!
The air has turned crisp here in Western New York and I am feeling it! Today, the sun is shining and DH is out in the yard while I am getting crafty!

First thing I finished (hopefully there will be more today) is this little Riley card. The challenge over there is to use scraplings. After reading the description, I said "Aha" and then made this darling card! Here is where you can find the definition and the challenge!

My card base is 2.5 inches wide and 4.25 inches tall. The leaves do hang over though! I used Kraft stock for Riley and then paper pieced white envelopes and the blue mail bag. Antlers and hooves were colored with my Bic's and pink distress marker in the ears and nostrils. The stamps and dies are from a*muse studio.

I am happy to be getting ack into the swing of things and will get back into the swing of luv-leaving this week!

A Special Duel

So, it is the 15th of the month and that can only mean one thing! It is time to duel it out.

Basically, we are "Lovin' on our Leftovers"! Yep, we are using our leftovers from past kits to make our Stunning September cards!  I will be honest and say that this is a very heartfelt sentiment and I mean every word of it!  I love this group of crafters and can't imagine the blog-osphere without them!  I kept the card simple and used two of my leftover papers and many of my leftover embellies!!  I love this card as much as I love the previous cards/kits!!

Make sure you check out the rest of the DUEL!
We all love luv!

I'm sorry!

No, I haven't really done anything wrong....I have just been MIA. My mojo seemed to leave as summer ended! But, I have finally found my mojo, pulled up my bootstraps and created a card!

I must admit that it did look better in my head, BUT it is a start!

This card follows the deconstructed sketch #69. I used papers from Echo Park's Everyday Eclectic. The stamps are from amuse studio, named 'just because" and can be found here. The ribbon was from my stash, and the crystals came from the Can You Digi It? Shop!
