January Crafters of Faith

Good morning! Well, it is morning... My head isn't as foggy as yesterday, so that is good. I finished my project yesterday and decided to grab photos later, well my bed called and I didn't get back to my desk until this morning...lol
Being the last day of the month, it is time to post for y Crafters of Faith blog group. These ladies are the best prayer warriors and always know just the right thing to say as way of encouragement!!

Sharon was our theme hostess this month and here is what she said:

2013 is here! What a great time to clear out the old to make way for the new.

* For this challenge, I would like to see you use both old stash and new stash to create your card/project.

* To add a little fun to the challenge, I'd love to see you try a new technique -- something you've never done before. You can check out google, youtube, or even the SCS forums and galleries for inspiration!

* Make sure you tell me what's new and what's old and post a link or give a little description of the technique you used.

Using from my stash, comes natural. I am trying not to buy (I have bought a few things....GCs from Christmas, you know), so the new part of my stash was hard...lol

What I came up with uses paper from last years Sale-abration from SU! and a ribbon spool I just added to my stash after 'cleaning' up my area. My spools of ribbon are kept on long dowels and many were empty, so I decided to start the new year cleaning....lol

My inspiration came from Close To My Heart:

And now, I am sure you can't wait to see my interpretation....lol
First, let me tell you I broke out some Adirondack alcohol ink.....never opened, to color the interior of the spool and distress the edges. I stamped the flourishes and fussy cut them and then added half pearls and some twirls....and, I used a MFT rose die (which I HAD to have and never like the finished project). All stamps from CTMH, everything else from my stash....

And, here it is!

And, a close up of the top:

Let me know how I did....please ;-)

Make sure you stop my the other COF blogs (see my sidebar) because they love luv too!!

Thanks for stopping by!

April
